Like, some teacher had to spend her Sunday morning writing a thank you note with a few pictures because I pitched in to get like markers, chalk, and some other miscellaneous basics. What are we doing.

I know this is one of many, but it makes me sad "in our current times" to get the thank you notes from teachers on donors choose and it's like "thank you for helping to fund [basic essentials], our kids are grateful for your support!"

About a month ago, the Trump administration got rid of the de minimis exemption, whereby packages valued under $800 could slide in without import duties. Now there's a backlog as the government can't process all of this paperwork, leading to UPS just destroying packages

Business Insider headline reads: UPS is telling customers that their packages coming to the US are marked for destruction.
