How we interact creates our future

Bad Bunny understood the assignment…

It’s got the words, so I need to post again. I cannot love this any more!
Bad Bunny’s closing messages during his Super Bowl performance:

“The only thing more powerful than hate is love”
“Together, we are America”

No flipping way!! Yes I just watched this 5 times to believe it!

I loved that #BadBunny reminded us of the nations in the Americas during his halftime show at the #Superbowl. Diversity is our strength!

The linemen piece caught my attention immediately. My local municipal utility responded to mutual aid and we had people there for 6 months, helping restore where possible, but also redesign at least part of the grid.
If you didn’t catch the significance of the exploding transformers in Bad Bunny’s halftime show, I gotcha. Here’s one of a bunch of pieces I wrote from/on Puerto Rico about the crisis—and Trump’s role in it. slate.com/news-and-pol...

Holy cow! I grasped that he said god bless America, and then named off the countries in North and South America, and was so impressed I did not notice the screen behind.

More than half the drugs on the TrumpRx site have a cheaper generic version on the market.

Pristiq, an antidepressant, is available with a TrumpRx coupon for ~$200 for a 30-day supply.

A generic version is on GoodRx for less than $30 and Mark Cuban's CostPlusDrugs for $16.65.
How TrumpRx drug prices compare to generic alternatives
Patients could save more buying non-branded copycat drugs, even if they don't have insurance.

This is where we are shifting towards, as norms change.
No joke: I got angry hate mail today for writing an obituary of a Black woman scientist—because the person felt she did didn’t deserve the recognition.

Which just makes me want to share it again: www.nature.com/articles/d41...
Gladys Mae West obituary: mathematician who pioneered GPS technology
She made key contributions to US cold-war science despite facing huge barriers as a Black woman.

VERY powerful article on what @jbf1755.bsky.social called “the murder of the Washington Post” but this time by one of the tech billionaires who seemingly lost interest when the press didn’t roll in profits like tech does…as they murder our ability to learn about the world we live in.

Wow! Congrats to the VW workers! This is #thePowerOfUS
In the historically anti-union South, the UAW just secured a landmark contract with Volkswagen.

The workers won major wage increases, job security against outsourcing, and higher-quality healthcare.

Congratulations to these workers, and remember: there is always hope in labor.

I am. But there are three things at play here regarding ICE collecting private data. Quick rundown on the issue, why you should be paying attention, and what I'm doing about it:
So which politician is calling for the dismantling of the probably illegal database that ice & this government is collecting biometric data of protesters?

Today is the 32nd anniversary of Byron De La Beckwith’s Feb. 5, 1994 conviction for murdering Medgar Evers in 1963. I’m sure it’s just a coincidence that this news broke today.

That racist POS—who bragged about killing Evers at Klan meetings and rallies—died in prison in 2001.

Alabama's maternal health stats are akin to those of Venezuela or Colombia. California's stats are closer to those of Sweden or The Netherlands. And this reflects sharply on quality of life.
Alabama has the worst maternal mortality in the United States at 60 deaths per 100K live births. For reference, California has 18 deaths per 100K live births.

But Dr. Oz thinks it’s “cool” that American citizens do not have access to good reproductive healthcare in the wealthiest nation in history.
Dr Oz: "Alabama has no OBGYNs in many of their counties, so they're doing something pretty cool. They're actually having robots do ultrasounds on these pregnant moms."

Interesting history on how the Supreme Court operated over the history of the US
The idea that the Court should operate entirely in secret is a modern phenomenon. The idea that the Court should be separated from the public is a modern phenomenon. Earlier generations did not accept a powerful, isolated & secretive Court and we shouldn't either 1/6

Please find some time to read this article of what has been happening in Minneapolis
January 27, 2026 at 6:04 PM
As always, well worth the watch. Tonight she pointed out how much we have learned about resistance from the brave community in Minneapolis, and how much this regime is about power, even to the point where they have no real policy, because that does not serve them getting into power and staying.
