It does cost $0 to not compare someone's work to some mainstream media that you like. If you are commenting on someone's art and talking more about something else ENTIRELY, you are likely frustrating that artist a LOT.

Tip: If you don't use a light box, you can use a desk lamp or other bright light source to trace your artwork onto a clean sheet of paper, if you prefer not to ink your original sketch.

For this process, I go over the pencil sketch in ballpoint pen first to make it easier to see. 👍

“Just be yourself” can sound like cliché and bad advice, because honestly, it goes badly sometimes. It can hurt. Some people will reject you. But the reason it’s worth it is that when things do work out, it’s with people who really like the real you, and that feels so much better than pretending.

The problem with having a crafting hobby is you will have THINGS.

Bits of things, big specialized things, tiny bags of hard to get things, drawers of tools just for the things, half-completed things, duplicates of things you ordered because you forgot you already had those things, SO MANY THINGS
