Starting the week of pink objects with this beautiful late 19th century sweetmeat stand from Cannon Hall Museum.

Items like this were very popular as centrepieces on Victorian dining tables and would be used for serving sweetmeats or berries.

A decorative, pink and clear glass epergne centerpiece with curving arms and fluted flower-shaped vases, set in a matching ruffled glass bowl. The intricate design features delicate, transparent detailing.

I have some fond memories of past trips to #lübeck, so I painted their famous Holsten Gate. It's the entrance to their old city centre, known for marzipan and parades. It's always recommended to end your day here during sunset!

#31DaysOfGraves Day 12 - Notable woman: Marie Laveau "The Voodoo Queen" was a Louisiana Creole practitioner of Voodoo, an herbalist, and a midwife who was renowned in New Orleans [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marie_Laveau]. She is believed to be buried in this tomb at St Louis Cemetery No.1.

A limewashed brick tomb in poor condition. It has many inscribed and painted X marks in the plaster, in accordance with a tradition that says doing so would allow Marie Laveau to grant a wish.
