Emily Kaplan just said Matt Tkachuk could be ready to play c. Christmas break. Wonder if we'll see him vs the Hurricanes on Dec 23 at Lenovo? (or even the prior weekend in Sunrise).

At least the marquis player on our team didn't just receive a mandatory suspension for his 2 separate game misconduct penalties - this in the same week he was fined $2000 for multiple cases of diving.

Not a criticism, just observing that they only went with two Alternates today with Staal (and Slavin) out. It's standard to give an A to someone else when this happens, to make 3. Maybe decision came too late to find an "A" to stitch on a jersey (like Ghost or Walker?) .

That's the fewest in a period this season for the Hurricanes. previous low was two in the first period against the Wild on Nov. 6, but there was only 8:39 of 5v5 time in that period, per @naturalstattrick.com
