I agree wholeheartedly with this part in particular: "But it does not help us at all to impose a hierarchy of lower and higher functioning" because no matter what you call us, we all have different abilities to deal with different things.

To the Editor:

I am one of these so-called profoundly autistic people this article describes. I cannot utter meaningful speech, and as a result, I was branded for years as someone with an intellectual disability and an I.Q. of 40. All this time, however, I understood everything that was going on around me. I just could not show it to others because of my deranged relationship with my own body.

I am concerned about the creation of a separate category, called profound autism, for those of us with the most severe disabilities. There are real differences between the sort of autism that I have and so-called Asperger's syndrome. But it does not help us at all to impose a hierarchy of lower and higher functioning. We need to figure out how to tap into the skills and insights of those of us who cannot talk, who make up anywhere from 25 percent to 40 percent of the autistic community, depending on the estimate.

For me, the way out of this dilemma was learning to communicate by typing. I suddenly went from being seen as intellectually impaired to taking college classes. I was never low-functioning, and neither are my autistic brothers and sisters without the ability to speak. I was just misjudged and ignored, and I fear that my fate will be the fate of many others termed low functioning in this new schema.

I was able to convert a GGUF version of Comma-v0.1 and get it working locally in Ollama.

This is, as far as I know, the first and still only LLM trained ONLY on ethically sourced public domain and opt-in data. I'm glad to have this for my own experiments and toys: huggingface.co/jadael/comma...

Separate from the Game Crafter version I'm working on which will be cut from acrylic, I also made these 3D printed pieces for my own set forever ago. I wonder if Game Crafter will end up offering 3D printed parts at some point 🤔

Yaaaas shaped pieces are obviously the way to go. For scale, these pieces would be about 8mm across, and the board is about 7 inches along one each edge.

It does mean there need to be little notches to hold the legs, but those notches could be repeated as a decorative element along the sides.

Alright, I think this is much closer to a final design (though I still want to try letting the different pieces be different shapes). The legs now straddle the board instead of going through a slot, so if you leave the legs off you don't have holes in the board.

So I'm using d4s as the game pieces for a version of the game Taasen by Jennifer Diane Reitz, since the game has a theme of 'triangles', and that ended up looking pretty cute.

And now because there's a "bottom", I can hide a rule hint down there!
