Proposing ridiculously simple solutions to tackle complex problems is one of the hallmarks of malicious populism.
I don't know why this is so fucking hard for people to get. Con artists always tap into people's real fears and concerns. Every get-rich-quick scheme, fake cancer cure, phony weight loss treatment.
