Don't tell them what they want to hear.

Tell them what they need to hear.
With neofascists it’s never about free speech, but rather convenient speech.

Their idea of freedom actually means compliance.

And they never mind watching the world burn.

TL,DR: Resist now. Or you will be removed later.

To find the best in others;

To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;

To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived;

This is to have succeeded.

When you're accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression.

There is a cult of ignorance in the US, and has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.

It isn’t “my” single issue.

I understand that democracy is a bus, not a taxi - you pick the one that gets you closest to your destination.

But Gaza was one if not the single issue for ~6.9m dem voters, besides race & gender:

2016 Clinton 65.9m
2012 Obama 65.9m

2024 Harris 74.4m
2020 Biden 81.3m

There was no choice for liberal voters. So they didn’t vote.

2024 was moderate conservative democrats bombing Gaza vs paleo conservative & fascist republicans bombing Gaza.

The problem with the world is that the intelligent people are full of doubts, while the stupid ones are full of confidence.

Where justice is denied, where poverty is enforced, where ignorance prevails, and where any one class is made to feel that society is an organized conspiracy to oppress, rob and degrade them, neither persons nor property will be safe.

I’m royally fucked either way, right?!

Anyway, no drug, not even alcohol, causes the fundamental ills of society. If we're looking for the source of our troubles, we shouldn't test people for drugs, we should test them for stupidity, ignorance, greed and love of power.

It has been said that man is a rational animal. All my life I have been searching for evidence which could support this.

A dying culture invariably exhibits personal rudeness. Bad manners. Lack of consideration for others in minor matters. A loss of politeness, of gentle manners, is more significant than is a riot.

Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you.

When I see someone with six-pack abs, I know we won’t have fun. Their idea of a good time is putting on tight shorts and working on their stomach muscles. Someone with love handles is putting on oven mitts and working on baking the perfect cinnamon buns. They’re fun.
