I love spending time in my garden, mostly sitting reading or crocheting. I usually talk about food, books, Sheffield, making things, life in general.

I really like watching #GameOfWool... I expected it to be full of knitting techniques that I wouldn't know much about... but it's #crochet nearly every week... which makes it much more interesting for me... 🧶

I remember thinking that a couple whose surname was Fairchild should be collectively known as the Fairchildren.
When Michael Foot and his wife were alive, I remember a friend of theirs wondering whether it was correct to say that he was inviting the Feet around for dinner.

It's amazing how infrequently you have to replace a light bulb these days... I'm relieved that the one that went today was an easy one... there are some light fittings that I can never remember how to open up...

I made a pan of dahl on Saturday... I somehow managed to make 8 extra portions... I have now eaten it every day for the last 6 days... and amazingly didn't get bored by it... but I am relieved that we have just eaten the last 2 portions... it's probably one of the few things I could eat every day...

Domestic bliss is overrated... I ran our washing machine on a hot wash at the weekend... for the first time in 6 months... it was so bad I had to do a 2nd hot wash... before daring to put the floor cloths in for a wash...

I'm quite excited... a while ago I chatted to someone from the local history group about some old photos... showing our house being built... I sent them to her today... and she said that it was perfectly timed... because they are looking for their next project... and want it to be residential...
