I love spending time in my garden, mostly sitting reading or crocheting. I usually talk about food, books, Sheffield, making things, life in general.
I was OK with 2am... but when they started to open until 6am it was too much... Jez has still got a technics deck from when he fancied having a go of DJing... and he tried making music with samplers etc... but they were complicated to use... The pedals and synths he has now are much better...

We did loads of clubbing... once house music came out... and it didn't involve dressing up... I stopped when we were 32... but Jez carried on for about 6 years after me... we still went to jazz gigs... and jazz festivals... but also super late nights of garage & techno...

Well done... it looks great...

The idea of Christmas in summer messes with my brain... it always feels like it was invented... to help people deal with the darkness and cold of winter...

I was so close to saying we should pull out yesterday... but Jez had been looking forward to it for ages... and we had a nice adventure going there...

My brother... and nearly all his friends... were Andrews... but I was still utterly clueless... They are really into saints days in Spain aren't they... I remember our friend Elena... talking about celebrating her saints day... as well as her birthday...

That market picture looked so sunny and warm... that I got the wrong end of the stick... I will have to look at the rest of the posts on your adventure... I've not been around much this weekend... hope you are having a fabulous time...

And I found out about St Andrew's day today... it was the page for today... in my book - A Year of Living Curiously...

When you were going on a winter break... I was expecting cold... and Scandinavian... it looks like you've gone somewhere a little warmer...

That looks like one of the projects @typejunky.bsky.social would work magic on... I look forward to seeing you transform it...

I love Brief Encounter... such a lovely film...

It was a lovely reminder... of the days when we went clubbing every week... it's important to keep going to new places... and doing new things... we could very easily have decided to stay in... and sit on the sofa in our cosy little house... but I'm glad we didn't...

Seems about right... I first found out when St George's day was... when a friend said it was her birthday... in recent years the media have been raising awareness... with flag wavers... I wouldn't have a clue about St Andrew's day... but grew up knowing St David's day... and St Patrick's day...

Super tired this morning... after a night out at the coldest gig we've ever been to... if you ever go to Forge Warehouse in winter... make sure you wrap up warm... I was so glad I put my down skirt on to get there... I never took it off...

Definitely not pumpkins... but that way up... I see poppy seeds...

We have the best of both worlds... Sheffield is very green and leafy... we have loads of woods... and the peak district is on our doorstep...

I know someone who has... I think it can come on at any age... with the right (or is that wrong) combination of luck and lifestyle...

I grew up with a terrible rural bus service... & was determined not to have to live with it again... so we've always chosen to live in places with multiple public transport options... it'd take a lot for me to swap suburbia for the country... although I would love to be closer to town & walk more...
November 29, 2025 at 5:46 PM
Everyone else round here has at least 2 cars... & constantly drive round... on journeys that seem pointless to us... they all treat me as if I'm deprived of something because I use the bus... & don't understand that I genuinely prefer it... and like how it makes me more aware of a diverse society...

I'm so used to not having a car around... as Mr Intgarden has always commuted by car... and used it for gigs... even in the last 5 years of him working from home... it never occurs to me to take the car... instead of walking to the local shops... or catching the bus into town...
November 29, 2025 at 5:02 PM
I've done the same... it's not as good as being able to do it for individuals... but it keeps the scary stuff out of my timeline... and I always remember to sometimes repost... and sometimes quote post... as very few people allow both...
