So, B&N is having a preorder sale at the same time as Amazon is having a sale, and both are targeting Independent Bookstore Day, which is one of the biggest in-store shopping days of the year.

I'm struggling to be productive outside of work - the world is such a mess and work is awash in uncertainty - so tonight I want to declare my weekend achievements. I completed my tax return, cleaned my kitchen and I set up my cats favourite portable chair in the living room and she is happy.

Sometimes I can get lost in my work and forget the chaos around me. Today unfortunately is a case of seeing the chaos and facing the complete uncertainty of my life which should spur on action, but instead seems to lead to paralysis.

Household discoveries: It turns out at my new apartment my dryer has a water tank that needs emptying occasionally. On the one hand happy I figured it out without needing to call maintenance, on the other hand I can see this getting annoying.

Today was clean out old apartment day. Naturally took twice as long as I expected but it is done. Tomorrow will be football on the telly and reorganising the cupboards at the new apartment. Never a dull moment.

Celebrating the small victories - this evening I managed to unpack all my books and get them onto the bookshelves. I'm sure I'll do plenty of rearranging but for now the books are on shelves.

The movers arrived just as i managed to retrieve my cat from her hiding spot under the bed. She's now shut away until everything is moved out and I know she's not happy but I think we're pretty much neck and neck on stress.

Preparing to move next week and this evening have just cleared out all the bathroom cabinets and drawers - divided up what to take with me and ruthlessly threw everything else away. Very cathartic. However my cat is looking at me very suspiciously.

Wow things are indeed livening up here. For the people who started following me recently I am a sporadic poster at best but am trying to be a bit more present. I am a Brit living in Arizona with my cat. This weekend I am supposedly packing up as I'm moving soon, but mostly watching football. Oops.
