Tried again to watch five minutes of The Conners and...do they just constantly talk about opioids?
Wow wow WOW

The downfall of a legend. F**k all who did this to Teen Vogue and the writers who created not only important journalism and discussion, but much needed representation for Black & trans teens. 💔
No more Black or trans staffers. No politics of any kind. The cowardice of mainstream media isn't just insulting, it's *boring.* Now TV is just like any other beauty rag. Why not just kill it quickly? Why the slow-motion pretense?
thank you for all the support; the statement from our union is now live here with some more reporting.

now that this is public I can confirm that the majority of today’s layoffs were women of color. there are no longer any Black women working at Teen Vogue.
Trying hard to recover fifteen+ years of work at typepad. Heels On The Field only existed there.

Very upsetting experience.

Re: #SNAP loss - everyone seems to focus on families with kids, and rightly so, but people, please check on your #elderly neighbors. They may not be as connected or aware, they might not drive, and the need will be significant. Please make sure they have access to #food as best you can.
Christ. Sorry Blue Jays fans.
So close. Centimetres.

The baseball gods. You just never know what they're up to...😵😄
current headspace:
4 or 5 times in this post-season a loss has felt like a bad omen to fans. And yet, here we are.

Ohtani on 3 days doesn't scare me, Glasnow after working however briefly tonight doesn't scare me. Sasaki after that many pitches back on the next day sure isn't scary.

Who else?
But then we'll get excited about the Phillies again and...we don't want to do that again do we

This is the laziest take. Perhaps listen to the intense romanticism of MANY of her songs, and you can connect that work to Showgirl: paper rings? Love story? She's realizing a dream for her life. Swifties know that. The anti-woman movement of trad wives has zero connection to her. Grow tf up.
It strips him of a lot of power and the dishonor is huge. I would guess he's glad his parents are gone. In times like these, everything unprecedented and any moment men are exposed as abusers of women feels extraordinary. I hope victims/survivors feel a small sense of vindication. Likely not much.
Finally, Prince Andrew is “being held accountable” if by accountable you mean losing titles and getting evicted while still keeping his wealth and freedom. It’s like grounding a billionaire: the public sees a punishment, but in reality, life goes on almost unchanged.

...?... shipyard activities ended in the '90s (my dad held various jobs there). Since then the naval yard has rented space to tons of busineses including Urban Outfitters HQ. Tastykake Bakery is located somewhere on the grounds. Events are held there. He's a moron.
Adding to last post: I spent many years covering MiLB on my Typepad HOTF blog: Eastern League, NYPL, FSL, etc. lots of New York minor leagues. Rays too. Please let me know if there's anything that you'd like to re-read or see updated.

Just curious but also trying to figure out the new platform.
If you read my work at Heels On The Field would really like to hear from you. Maybe there was a story that you remember that I can track down in my files?

I'm figuring out a re-publish plan. TBD.
I don't know if minor league baseball fans today understand what I built pre-twitter, before blogging was even a serious platform for journalism.

Heels on the Field preserved the endless miles I traveled and countless hours I'd dedicated to covering MiLB and, later, issues in sports media.
What a bunch of weirdos. Trump's employees pretend they're in Top Gun, when actually it's a a bad mid- 2000s USA Network miniseries. The dopey melodrama would be just as amusing if it weren't real life.
The homeland security twitter account exists as further evidence that fascists have piss poor media literacy.
My grandma's favorite perfume for years! She would receive all the new sets on Christmas and her birthday.
