The president of the United States posted a video of him defecating on the American people. Many in my profession normalized it. This is a big reason why we are where we are.

What? It’s all about profit? WHO COULD HAVE GUESSED
This is why they need kids using it in schools ASAP.
*The AI boom = one of the costliest building sprees in world history

* Past 3 years' commitments are greater than the cost of building the U.S. interstate highway system

* Consumers must spend $800 billion on AI within a few years, to justify investment from 2023-24

Oh Amtrak. I'd say never change but actually please yes change. Change with abundant funding and engines that don't die mid trip and delay not only that train but all the following trains. I still love you but it hurts a little more every time this happens.

Hi Internet! I'm Drew and THIS IS MY FACE.

If this GIF has ever brought you joy in the past, I humbly ask you to consider making a donation to the National MS Society. It would mean a lot to me and to those I know affected by the disease!

Anarchism is the project of fostering relationships in which no one is able to systematically dominate or oppress anyone else because power is distributed evenly and cooperation is incentivized more than cutthroat competition.

It is the opposite of authoritarianism.

This part of getting older where you watch all your heroes die is one of my least favorite parts BUT Assata Shakur dying free and getting to live a whole life before she died really is a wonderful thing.
Assata Shakur joins the ancestors a free woman. She did not die bound by the carceral system and she did not pass away living in a land that never respected or accepted her.

Assata taught us that liberation can not be bargained for, it must be taken.

Rest Free, Assata.
Aw, thank you! Glad it’s helped you out. ❤️

If you are someone who needs support around a present or past loss or trauma due to gun violence, with secondary or less direct impacts of that violence, or who is feeling fearful living in this time where so much of it happens every day, please know that we are here for you. www.scarleteen.com/ask
Scarleteen as an organization and a service directly understands and deeply empathizes with all of those who have experienced or are experiencing the terrible and incredibly painful impacts of gun violence, whoever the victims — both direct and indirect — of that violence may be.
Ooooo la la!

I think folks need to understand that Disabled people who pay attention to accessibility (and the lack of it) in multiple areas of life already know where it goes when we're not supposed to ask for better accessibility from folks who "mean well".
Pretty common thing I get told when I point out an accessibility fail: "They mean well, so give them a break."

Unfortunately, that's not how this works. Accessibility is about what is and isn't, not what's intended. Giving people breaks for half-assing accessibility just normalizes inaccessibility.

How about we just shutter OpenAI and distribute the billions of dollars in VC money they've been given among the people who rightfully said 2 years ago this would result in an unusable internet.
