TBH Treasury is just 'modelling' alternatives. However, I am frankly astonished to see the paper takes no account of the 7 year gap in life expectancy between Māori (75.8) & Europeans (82.8) or the near 6 year gap between Europeans & Pasifika (76.9).

Pay equity funeral march this morning in Nelson Whakatū. Well organised and attended. Poignant speeches from a nurse and a carer. Many photographers so hopefully the msg will get out there. At the end there were sausages, ballons for the kids and a stall helping folks to register to vote #nzpol
Off sick today with a bit of a cold, but I needed coffee, then I remembered there was a coffee shop down the road (about 40 km). It just so happened that some other lasses were going there for coffee too.
Me too. You couldn't make this stuff up!
Nearly 12 hours after leaving home, I made it back. Queen Charlotte and Whangamoas was so much fun and a great road to get to know this Queen (well, she is black and yellow). I do have a numb bum though. Might be the first mod! 🏍🥰 roll on Summer!
The adventure begins! Looks like a nice day for a ride...
There are so many deserving entries! Why did you chose the Kākā in particular?
Partner has flu and I've got a slight sore throat. I really hope I can fight this off by tomorrow as I'm supposed to be flying to Wellington to pick up my new motorbike and ride it home! 🏍🤞

If you're sick of this government and this absolute race baiting bullshit and attacks on Māori across the board - vote in your local election and vote to keep Māori wards.

Your council is ONLY having a referendum because this government is forcing them to.

How embarrassing if they all get kept.

Imagine paying nearly $700M for no boats and still having the confidence to say this? #nzpol

Reality hidden by headline: Kiwis must accept lower quality public services to pay for the $2 billion the government gave to their friends, the landlords, while also factoring in corporate hand outs for tobacco and fossil fuel, and the money pissed up the wall for no ferries.
We were visiting Wellington today too. It was a gorgeous sunny day walking along coast. Now sitting in the airport waiting for the last plane home to Nelson.
He didn't quite catch fire, but it was close and the caravan stank of burning cat hair. He did not appreciate being suddenly yeeted into the cold yonder but it did the job. He was well loved and lived to a ripe old age.
When I was a kid, I lived in a caravan in Wales. It had a portable gas heater in it. One day we could smell burning hair. The cat had got so close he was starting to singe! We threw him out into the snow to put him out.
So, it looks like I get to play a dragon in a Viking-themed pantomime written by a friend of mine. It has rainbow warriors, a goat named sparkle, an epic quest, and hoochin' wolves. Spoiler alert - the dragon's treasure is books. It's so cool!

Sand batteries are literally just silos of sand that retain heat exceptionally well -- so well that they can be tied to heat exchange systems to serve as proxy *electrical* batteries. Finland's new model can store enough power (100 MWh) to heat an entire town for a week.

The world's largest sand battery just went live in Finland
Finland has inaugurated an industrial-scale sand battery this week in the southern town of Pornainen, where it'll take over heating duties from an old woodchip power plant for the municipality. It's s...

My sauce mix - Nooch (heaps), white beans (whole tin), miso (big spoon), plant milk, mustard (little spoon), salt, dill. Heat up and wiz up with a stick blender. Adjust quantities to taste and to how thick you want it to come out. Can also add spinach and then just add to pasta 🤌
