Siri, please show me a video of unadulterated holiday joy.
Bruce kicked off the holiday season in a lasting way, on this day 50 years ago, performing “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town” at C.W. Post during the “Born to Run” tour — a bit of concert magic that grew into the holiday tradition we know today.

Happy Holidays from everyone on E Street!

A quilt made out of red flags, this business.
“.. Tether stepped in to stave off plans by at least one existing shareholder to offload stock at a steep discount to the $500 billion valuation the company is seeking, according to people familiar with the matter ..”

We're going to need some serious leadership if we're going to survive this.

Zelensky and Ukraine can't do this for us on their own.

Who will be our generation's Churchill?

@katie0martin.ft.com apologies just one more: going to need you to weigh in on this before I go and embarrass myself mentioning this to anyone.

Move over Larry.

It is no secret that a tabby named Larry wields considerable power in Downing Street. Now in Belgium, a rescue cat named Maximus has shot to social media stardom as bewhiskered sidekick and PR weapon of Prime Minister Bart De Wever

@ceejay.bsky.social

Maybe RHW didn’t make it on here because she’s not technically an ex…?

Any other exes that should have made it to this gathering?
Very very good, this.

One for true Bruce fans (I got every single reference).

Would have loved the Red Headed Woman to have made an appearance. (if you know you know… 😉)

I need you to listen to and share this story - of how Trump is preparing to abandon Ukraine in exchange for Russian money for his billionaire friends.

It could be the greatest corruption of American foreign policy in our history. Russia gets Ukraine. Trump's friends get rich.

Like Argentina.*

* Nominal terms; inflation > nominal GDP growth.
It’s going to be fun on TV to ask economists about 25% GDP growth. 🤡
Trump says he doesn't know why America can't achieve 25 percent annual economic growth

This is a nifty and cheeky little hack I was unaware of.

I tested it yesterday on a foreign language article sitting behind a paywall. Prompted: “give me a detailed summary in English of this article” and it came back with all the goods.

Haven’t tested other sites or other LLMs yet.

I remember watching this for the first time 30+ years ago and it felt like watching past history.

I've re-watched it twice in the past 5-10 years and it feels vividly current.

One of the greatest movies.
“Mississippi Burning” premieres 37 years ago tonight — one of Hackman’s great performances.

“.. I suppose I see myself as a serious artist,” he said, “and it felt right to do something of historical import. It was an extremely intense experience.”

#RIP 🙏🏼

Ukraine's appeal needs to go direct to the American public as a matter of urgency.

Dems and Republicans of good will need to act on this.

Ukraine and Europe need to mount a public campaign in the US.

It is the only thing that can stop Trump from selling Ukraine and Europe down the river.
Ukraine has accepted all 6 proposals presented by Trump, while Russia accepted 0.

Ukraine has done everything possible to end the war. Even the majority of Republicans understand that like the Congressman from South Carolina, Joe Wilson. We see another episode why appeasement never leads to peace.

I wish all of the world’s pains and evils on this man.
TRUMP ON ZELENSKY “He’s a great salesman – I call him P.T. Barnum. You know who P.T. Barnum was? One of the greatest ever. He could sell any product at any time, whether it worked or not. Zelensky did the same thing: he got Crooked Joe Biden to hand him $350 billion, and now 25%

Another good piece by Tim here; worth a read.

Lines up with my view on this all being a Spheres of Influence game of thrones getting played by Putin and the incompetent, corrupt and treasonous Trump administration.
