😭 Less useful is my ability to recall the code numbers allotted to different medications from when I worked for the NHS Business Services Authority doing data entry c.20 years ago, and still can't help thinking '248' when I see packets of 500mg paracetamol.

If anyone needs me I will be in the museum, lying down next to the bog bodies.
Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?
2? Questions
I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

Regular as a well wound clock, Yaxley-Lennon uses his Irish passport to come to London, gain publicity, claim victimhood, milk racist marks on his latest gofundme legal costs then fuck off back to luxury villas abroad to snort charlie until his annual 'can't wear a poppy' Armistice Day visit.

Tommy Robinson arrives at court and while I hope he is found guilty of "frustrating" counter-terrorism powers" because he wouldn't hand over his phone pin, this is a 3 month sentence. Is this really all we can charge him with when he has been inciting hatred and provoking violence for months?

As a fashion historian, I will die on this hill: the point of having blue hair and nose rings (or spiky nails or stripper heels or tattoos or an all-black wardrobe) is not to look pretty or cool. It's to look (and feel) powerful--something many young American women crave right now. And it's working.

I think we really should stop using antifa and just fully say anti-fascist and get them saying they are against anti fascism. Using antifa is giving them some distance and I genuinely think some of their base don’t even know that’s what it stands for.

Oh, man. After reading the article, what it actually says is that an historian did a lot of archival work and spatial research to determine the site of a killing and then the family of the likely perpetrator stepped forward with photographs to confirm identity.
