#dkpol #dkjura

Israel has told the UN it will only allow 300 aid trucks to enter Gaza everyday—half the amount agreed upon in the ceasefire deal.

Israel should not be allowed to control how much food, water, and fuel enter Gaza. Its illegal siege on Gaza must end.
Israeli aid limits hit Gaza as Trump issues new warning to Hamas
An Israeli tank opened fire in Gaza City, as Israel restricts aid into the Strip, citing the slow release of captive bodies.

Cutting red tape is not the way to do it, nor should EU bend over for US, for a tarif rate of 15%. The national politicians are still cought in yesterdays Atlanticism thinking.

We need EU leadership as Draghi says.

EU can cut red tape without bowing to Trump, says Denmark

A year after Draghi’s report, the EU is still:

• Sending savings to U.S. companies
• Failing to complete the single market
• Falling behind in AI & innovation

Only 11% of his 383 fixes have been fully implemented.

❗️Time to cut red tape, unite capital markets, and invest in tech & defense ❗️

“This is not a moment for photo opportunities and handshakes, but for courage and moral clarity” 🇷🇸

Our comments on @vonderleyen.ec.europa.eu visit to Serbia ⬇️
europeangreens.eu
Von der Leyen’s visit to Vučić sends the wrong signal:
the EU must stand with Serbia’s citizens, not its autocrat.

Today, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will meet with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić. At a moment when Serbian citizens are reeling from repression, violence, and grief, this visit is profoundly inappropriate and politically misguided. It risks signalling that the European Union’s values of democracy, freedom and accountability are negotiable.

“As the guardian of the EU treaties and the highest representative of all European citizens, Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has a duty to defend the rule of law, freedom of expression, and the right to peaceful protest. It is deeply regrettable that von der Leyen honours Vučić with an official visit without visible reservations, while his regime unlawfully detains students and opposition members and violently represses protesters. This is not a moment for photo opportunities and handshakes, but for courage and moral clarity. The EU must stand up for the rights and freedoms of the Serbian people,” said Vula Tsetsi, Co-chair of the European Green Party.
The tragic collapse of the Novi Sad train station roof on 1 November 2024 killed 16 people and exposed chronic corruption and impunity at the heart of the Vučić’ regime. Nearly a year later, the victims’ families still await justice. Protests demanding accountability have been violently dispersed, while independent journalists continue to face intimidation.

"We Greens firmly believe that the people of Serbia must be allowed to join the EU community if they want so. We also support the legitimate aspirations of its people to live in a free, democratic and just society. The European Commission must use its political weight to push Vučić to free and fair elections in the short term, and a peaceful transition of power if that is the people’s choice. EU accession talks must serve as leverage for democracy, not a reward for repression. If the Commission allows this visit to proceed without clear conditions and outspoken demands for justice, it will be remembered as the moment Europe lost its moral compass, and caved in to another autocrat”, Co-chair Ciarán Cuffe of the European Green Party added.

The European Green Party calls on President von der Leyen to:
- Publicly demand Vučić for full accountability and transparency in the Novi Sad tragedy investigations.
- Condition EU funds and accession steps on tangible progress in judicial independence, media freedom, and election integrity.
- Stand visibly and vocally with the Serbian people who call for fair and free elections, and not with those who silence them. Students and the opposition are for months calling for elections.

Israel is using the failure to return the bodies of hostages as a pretext to violate the ceasefire themselves, but as Nour Odeh points out, the ceasefire agreement did not contain a timeline for the handing over of the bodies & Israel already knew it might take weeks or months.

France's political chaos is coming at the same time as a dangerous leadership vacuum in Europe, where all main leaders except Meloni are distracted by political problems at home.

Indeed. We have 2 adversaries today, & we should treat them merit-based. Instead we need to team up with likeminded democracies like Canada.
Need to protect our companies from foreign takeover.
EU needs to federalise to survive, stay relevant while also have legitimacy in the eyes of EU citizens.

Thought-provoking thread. By coincidence, this summer I read the sequel to the 3 bodY problem (The dark forest) whose main theme is how humanity deals with 'defeatism'.

I felt strongly reminded of today's Euro-pessimism that strongly shapes today's discourse on the EU's future.

New - Europe’s 3-body problem: collapsing global order sparks hunt for new trajectory

I got to write about one of my favourite Chinese sci-fi novels. Europe, realising it can’t fix systemic chaos, is instead trying to shift its own orbit.

Biden could have made Israel heel too, instead of funding the genocide for a year. He chose not to & Harris lost the election, as ppl with mobile phones & roots in MENA had dead ppl on them, despite the medias collusion wiht Israel.

Dominic Waghorn reports that Israel refuses to release Marwan Barghouti, "who is arguably the Nelson Mandela of Palestinians".

The release of Mandela heralded the end of apartheid South Africa. Its not hard to see why the Israeli apartheid regime wants to keep him locked up.

In part, but that is also true in Germany, where they have lower prices.
The farm lobby carry a part of the blame, and the small market. The small market can be remediet by expanding & deepening the EU inner market & by joining the Euro, so easier & cheaper for others in EU to sell to DK consumers.

This #marxistmonday it's important to remember that its a hostage exchange - not a release - and that 2,000 of the 10,000 Palestinian captives being held in illegally in Israeli camps are being swapped for 20 Israelis being held in Gaza.
Release ALL Palestinian hostages now!
The Red Cross is overseeing the logistics of the prisoner exchange, including the transfer of Palestinian detainees to a designated medical point in Khan Younis, set up inside Nasser Hospital specifically for this day.

Doctors and nurses at the site say they are standing by to receive the prisoners, who will undergo medical checks before being reunited with their families.

Thousands of Palestinians have gathered outside the hospital, waiting to welcome the released detainees. Witnesses say the atmosphere is one of anticipation and relief, with families arriving from across Gaza in hopes of seeing their loved ones.

Medical staff say prisoners released in previous exchanges often arrive exhausted, weak and malnourished, after months in detention under harsh conditions. Many are also described as mentally drained from their time in custody.

That will not happen.

If your are tired of high prices on everything, then join the Euro.
