When white men bring up the merit argument they're telling the world they think women, poc, gays and other minorities are inferior and don't merit jobs are promotions. Our system has never been about merit. If it was there would be MORE women, poc etc. in charge, not less.
"Affordability Crisis" is a euphemism for greed crisis. It makes it sound like its being caused by things no one can control. And maybe that's true. Billionaires are pretty much running the world. Still though, affordability isn't the problem, it's the result of unrestrained greed.

Americans should stop asking if Trump and his minions think people are stupid. Enough of them are to elect Trump twice. His support while low, is still in the 10s of millions. Yes, Trump and his minions and many around the world think a lot of Americans are stupid. And he's still in power???

The lesson the US should be learning, is, the right will vote for, and support anyone that hates the same people they do. No amount of scandal is too much. No amount of incompetence is too much. No amount of gleeful cruelty is too much. Just hate the browns/blacks/women/gays. You'll get their vote.
