If you go to a suburban mall, you will probably have to park outside and walk in. You don’t expect to drive in to your store.

But for some reason in urban areas it’s considered an injustice if you can’t park directly in front of the store you want to go to.

My least popular (and most correct) view is that cars should be automatically limited to the local speed limit. Put the pedal to the floor and you still can't go over 25mph in a residential area.

(15 in Manhattan btw)
There is no possible justification for limiting e-bikes to 15mph but not cars.

People talk a lot about the architecture of buildings and that’s fine. But to me, street design matters more to the aesthetics and experience of the city.

In the US we have programs for the impoverished and the medically suffering. Despite these programs, people still go hungry and untreated. It's on brand for the God fearing, Jesus loving, lying through their teeth GOP to cut these programs. I don't buy the fraud argument.

Should cycling be central to health policy?

The benefits are clear—physical health, mental well-being, and stronger communities. Yet cycling remains undervalued in public health strategies, despite strong scientific backing.

Lorain Road in Fairview Park, Ohio. Do this! At least partially.
Paris is transforming itself into a greener city.

Recently, Paris residents voted in favour of making 500 more streets pedestrian. Thanks to major investments in walking and cycling infrastructure, the city has become one of the friendliest for active mobility.

Oh my... This could be countless places in urban and suburban United States.
Witness the transformation of Utrecht's inner ring road as it evolves into a vibrant city boulevard. The once busy traffic road has been converted into a safe route with greenery and trees, thereby creating a calming journey for cyclists and pedestrians.

If I had the perspective I have now back in 2016, I may have voted for Bernie and even put his sign in my yard. I never disliked him. I voted Clinton cause I thought she had a better chance of winning. Opps. Maybe Bernie should run again.

And in the US, ban right turns on red.
How do you avoid colissions at intersections?

According to SWOV, we should avoid traffic arrangements where cyclists get green at the same time as right-turning car traffic.

“If you need a sign, it’s a bad design” is a planning axiom held in high regard in the Netherlands.
Often, the uses of various parts of the road are cued via the style, shape and colouration of paver materials, which are standardized across their cities.

I've been in Europe for 3 weeks. The first thing I easily noticed upon landing at home in the US, were the vast quantities of terrible, horrible, selfish, aggressive and distracted cars. There's no way we'll be a happy country until our infrastructure is people first, cars last. Among other things.

These are *everywhere* in Montreal. I don’t have numbers but I wouldn’t be surprised if hundreds of intersections have had curb extensions installed.

Behavioral change is a vital part of transforming cities to more sustainable, liveable places.
This change can be made in all demographics; from educational bicycle training for children, employer incentives to stimulate staff to cycle to work more, to programs for the elderly.
