That one, yes… the dude you don’t want to listen to but know you probably should. In 2012 we observed the hierarchical growth of structure. In 2020 we then solved the nonlinear growth of structure. There’re more important things to worry about now.

We were all responding to James Felix whatever his name was above. And then you piped up with the DSCC.
grumpykelson.myatproto.social
Look, my point is *bitch about the Democratic elite level donors who have outsized influence on how the candidates may or may not get constrained* but to bitch about an institutional Democratic Party like the “DNC” somehow has the same kind of control like the RNC does is… missing the mark.

There are a bajillion locals and state level party committees. The funnel people up to the national level where there is no overarching rigorous party infrastructure.
grumpykelson.myatproto.social
If you want to talk about party elders who have some sort of lock on the national scene, sure, but that is not an institutional all-controlling democratic party. For all intents and purposes there isn't a single monolithic democratic party, unlike the way the RNC operates.
grumpykelson.myatproto.social
The DSCC is a fundraising committee of Democratic senators raising funds for senate races. This is not an institutional party as there are several committees that exist like this.

there is no such thing as an institutional democratic party

As an officer of a local party where about 70 of our 280 committee seats are filled, I cannot reiterate enough that the party is a creation of the people whose hands are on it. In too many places there aren't enough hands, or those hands are complacent or bitter. But they could be yours instead.

Let me strongly emphasize that you should not give someone money for committing a gross breach of professional ethics. You also shouldn't hire them for a prestigious new job but our industry is garbage, alas!

To be clear:

LA County has declared a state of emergency BECAUSE OF the federal government.

The Feds, LA County is (correctly) saying, have CAUSED the emergency.

This is a striking political moment of internal collapse. Local govts feeling compelled to protect their ppl from … their own govt.

What makes this one of the craziest stories I've seen in a long time is the number of people who find this to be new information.

One of the craziest stories I've seen in a long time. If you think Trump and his administration are extreme and depraved, just wait until you learn about the young guns who are positioning themselves to take over the reigns in the next few decades

Remember when Stephen Miller claimed the Chicago apartment raid was on a building “filled with Tren de Aragua terrorists”?

Well, DHS has now dropped the number of alleged TdA members arrested in the building from 2 to 1.
Just one "verified" Tren de Aragua member and one U.S. citizen with an active warrant were among the 37, DHS said, without saying how it had verified that gang affiliation. Others taken that day, the agency said, were "illegal aliens."

This is the second time in 24 hours he's said something like this. Yesterday he made that quip saying about Karoline Leavit, "those lips --- they move like a machine gun."

He's losing all inhibitions. Not that he ever had many to begin with.
