Unless and until some kind of compelling legal and moral argument is presented as to why this is a legitimate use of deadly force, this is just…mass murder.

So 135 requests per day is the break even for $250 a month?
grumdholt.bsky.social
Only if it doesn't deplete the campaign funds of the eventual primary winner and if the Democratic party supports whoever wins.
The way party leaders have refused to support the candidate in NYC because their preferred candidate didn't win, has me doubtful on the second point.

Biden's cease-fires got 135 living hostages released. Trump's got 20 (which is less than it would have been had he enforced the continuation of the January cease fire).

Or maybe, just maybe, what was obvious in 2024 was correct: Netanyahu fully backed Trump and would not deal with Biden because Trump would give him a free hand to escalate the starvation, bombing, and do full ethnic cleansing. Which he then did, until Netanyahu embarrassed him by bombing Qatar.

No, you don't gotta hand it to him for possibly getting the third Biden cease fire eight months late after tolerating a mass starvation campaign and demanding a little ethnic cleansing and enormous bribes as a treat, and only because Netanyahu surprise bombed the chief bribe facilitator.

Several? It was 2023.
They might not even be able to get another Republican seat because they've already got their gerrymander.
They may just be trying to draw maps for specific state legislators to run in since Cawthorn screwed up their plans last time he ran.

NC GOP already did a mid decade Gerrymander in 2023.
And they've been doing extreme gerrymanders since the 2010 census.
"I propose that we draw the maps to give a partisan advantage to 10 Republicans and three Democrats because I do not believe it's possible to draw a map with 11 Republicans and two Democrats," state Rep. David Lewis, senior chairman of the North Carolina's House of Representatives redistricting committee, was quoted as saying in a transcript of a committee meeting when the legislature was forced by courts to rework the maps for a second time in 2016.

We have armed secret police kidnapping people off the street based on the color of their skin.

When we win: we will haul them before a Senate committee. The masks will come off. There will be consequences.

Trump is the reason this deal wasn't reached when Biden was president. Trump asked Israel to hold off on a deal to keep Biden from looking good before the election and to make Trump look good after.
Trump deserves no kudos for "solving" a problem he created.

Unconstitutionally taking money that the law says must be spent on one purpose & using it for something else—when it's to establish personalist control over the FUCKING MILITARY—is about as dangerous a constitutional crisis/failure as you can imagine

The Office of Management and Budget sent a notification to Congress about their intent to use research and development funds to pay members of the military, two sources with direct knowledge tell NBC News.

A spokesperson for the OMB confirmed to NBC News that it plans to use the research and development funds and that there are two years' worth of funds available within the Department of Defense.

When Trump is gone the United States should seize everything the Trump family has.
It was all gifts to the President and therefore property of the United States.

When Hunter Biden gets a job for himself: even the appearance of impropriety is unacceptable.

When Trump uses the might of the US government to force countries and companies to give his children billions: this family is just good at business.

All nonsense, of course, but if the point were to “give[] the minority a say” then the logic would require them to negotiate with Dems, not shut down the government and force them to swallow GOP priorities whole.

2 dozen intelligence agencies and the President is making decisions based on the modern equivalent of chain letters.

I want to see the actual "threat". I can find descriptions but not the actual letter which makes me think it's not a real threat.
Also it's kinda funny that Benny is so bad at this that he couldn't help but promote violence against Democrats for the crime of promoting violence.
grumdholt.bsky.social
Benny Johnson is a partisan hack. And a stupid one at that.
A conservative influencer railed against the Democratic Party for having "mainstreamed violence as a political tool" during a Justice Department press conference where Attorney General Pam Bondi discussed a death threat against him "We must understand the battle we are fighting, good versus evil, darkness versus light, and good must conquer evil," Johnson said referring to political violence he attributed to democrats. "Do not make peace with evil."

The random people who called into this C-SPAN session had better questions for Mike Johnson than most corporate media outlets

C-SPAN caller to Mike Johnson: "Hearing you say that 'everyone is smiling' in cities where troops have been rolled into feels dystopian and insane watching the response to it."

all scientists can be classified according to just two variables: whether they're more mad physics or mad biology, and whether their hubris is in calling up what cannot be put down, or seeking to understand what no man was meant to know
we were definitely not meant to know about that worm with a hundred buttholes, for instance

Republicans believe a No Kings protest is an attack on the Republican run government and have declared that anti-fascists are their enemy.

Well…a hit dog hollers.

If I were a DC reporter, I’d consider maybe pressing Johnson on how he reconciles these two statements.
@atrupar.com

Mike Johnson: "We're so angry about it. I mean, l'm a very patient guy, but l've had it with these people. The theory we have right now -- they have a hate America rally that's scheduled for October 18 on the National Mall. It's the pro-Hamas wing and antifa people ..." @atrupar.com

Mike Johnson: "People have got to stop framing simple policy disagreements in terms of existential threats to our democracy. You can't call the other side fascists and enemies of the state and not understand that there are some deranged people in our society who will take that as cues to act."
