We are. I think Edwards published something on this in the book (or somewhere?). His measure was making 50% of the starts in the first 2 (?) years. If I remember right, PL was under 50% success by this definition. Don't remember exactly where we were. I think 60s, maybe?? Can try to find it.

I'm not sure it's an either or. There will be successes and some less successful. Would be almost unheard of to bat 1,000 on that level of transfer business.

Hopefully, he took a little time with his family and cleared his head. Then dove into game film. He has good tools and a great football brain. He'll figure it out.

(I will be fascinated when the full story of this summer comes out. What came form the analytic folks? What from the coaches?)

Yeah, totally fair. It's all a bit of a mess. Ekitike was our only in form attacker, but now he has to sit. But you're onto something. If the double pivot sits a little more cautiously, that frees up the fullbacks to get up field.

(This assumes we have two healthy CBs, which might be a stretch)

It sure isn't, although I think the idea there is that, in any double pivot, one can go up, and one can hang, so I sort of see what they're doing. But why on earth bring in Kerkez to sit in a 3?? & I assumre the LW is making his own decision not to pass when Kerkez does overlap. Bit of a mess tbh 😞
