🚆 After some reflection, I am stepping back from my national role as Green Party #Transport spokesperson.

🚌 It’s been a privilege raising transport inequality, calling for better buses & helping shape HS2 policy.

💚 But for now, I want to prioritise my work in #Bradford and Tong Ward.

"Free bus travel for under-22s only scratches the surface. London’s public transport fares remain among the highest in Europe, and no one, no matter their age should have to choose between paying rent or tapping their Oyster."

As long as people are stuck in car dependency without good public transport, those who should not be behind a wheel will be forced to resist rules to restrict them.

Ending road death MUST mean green transport ££ and lower speeds, car sizes and traffic, not just action on drivers.
greenmattbfd.bsky.social
🤦‍♂️ If it doesn't have tracks, it's not a tram.

A "trackless tram" is an expensive bus.
A screenshot of a news article from Dhaka Tribune. The headline reads: "Pakistan’s first trackless electric tram debuts in Lahore". The words "first trackless electric tram" are crossed out and replaced with the word "bus". Underneath is a photo of a fancy bus and other text where the words "trackless tram" are crossed out and replaced with the word "bus"

Great day in Bradford last week with our work experience student, Adam for the @local.gov.uk City Regions Board. So much going on for the City of Culture year, and a chance to catch up with @greenmattbfd.bsky.social @bradford2025.co.uk

🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ Really proud of see the #Pride and #TransPride flying in front of #Bradford City Hall today.

With everything the LGBTQIA+ (and especially the trans community) are facing at the moment, this is a powerful statement from @bradfordcouncil.bsky.social
A progress pride flag (although an older one without the update to reflect Intersex) and a trans flag pride flying in front of Bradford City Hall. Tyrell Square is visible in the background.

🟢 We have big plans for the local elections in 2026, and we are looking for people to stand as a Green Party councillor.

💪 You don’t need previous political experience - just a commitment to representing the community, Green values and a drive to make a real difference.

You don’t need previous political experience — just a commitment to our values, representing the community and a drive to make a real difference." A button below says "Find out more." The Green Party logo and name appear at the bottom along with small print that reads: "Promoted by P Worsnop on behalf of M Edwards at 7 Fairfield Road Bradford BD18 4QP." What would you choose to spend public funding on?

The Lower Thames Crossing?
or
20 - 50 rail re-openings (£300m each*)?

* This is the cost of the recent and hugely successful Northumberland reopening

Angry that Labour aren't doing enough?

💚 Congratulations to @lambethgreenparty.bsky.social and @paulvalentineactor.bsky.social

💪 Whilst the media is transfixed on the narrative they are peddling - Greens are winning local election after local election.

🗳️ The only party to elect more councillors than the year before... 8 years running.

Welcome councillor @paulvalentineactor.bsky.social - great work from @lambethgreenparty.bsky.social and London Greens GAINING a seat from Labour.

So very happy to wake up to this result it’s been an awesome campaign - and shows what Greens can do in London next year.

🚪 Great to be out in Stroud with a delegation of Greens from Serbia.

💚 Really exciting to hear from so many people voting Green. A lot of people are very disappointed and angry at the new Labour government.

🗳️ One of the many places where if you #VoteGreen you can get @greenparty.org.uk

💬 “It's very clear that this is just another problem that this current Labour administration don't have a grip on and they aren't taking it seriously enough."

Cllr @greenmattbfd.bsky.social on anti-social vehicle use in #Bradford

Graphic featuring a photo of Councillor Matt Edwards in a T&A article. He is shown speaking and gesturing while holding a tablet. He is wearing glasses, a grey jumper, and a lanyard, with a blurred background of city hall council chamber.

Above and below the image is the following text:

"Councillor Matt Edwards, Leader of the Greens in Bradford and a Tong Councillor, has long raised concerns about car meets on the Euroway trading estate."

Below the image, a red caption reads: "Councillor Matt Edwards (Image: T&A)"

Further text underneath states:
"He said despite the PSPO being in place, it was only pressure from local Councillors that led to the powers actually being used.
He said if the PSPO is to continue it needs to be better enforced."

At the bottom is the Green Party logo. Graphic featuring a block of quoted text against a green background. The quote discusses issues of enforcement around a Protection Order related to anti-social vehicle use in Bradford. The full text reads:

“It was only after the persistence of local residents and Tong Ward's Green Party councillors that enforcement happened. Hundreds of fines were issued in a short space of time and now the problem has largely disappeared.

But there are similar issues across the district and it's very clear that this is just another problem that this current Labour administration don't have a grip on and they aren't taking it seriously enough.

If all the time and cost is being spent getting the Protection Order in place, they need to enforce it – and that means having the enough staff to do this important work.”

At the bottom is the Green Party logo and a line of text:

🤫 For the last two years, I've been working with my fellow #TongWard councillors to pull together something exciting in the heart of #Holmewood.

🎉 Yesterday we marked a massive milestone with @incommunitiesha.bsky.social opening their new Community Hub at Holme In The Woods Community Arts Café.
