After finishing work for the Xmas break earlier this afternoon I decided to spend an hour cutting back spent plants and shrubs in the front garden before it got dark(er).
Just came in after filling the compost bin and needing a wee. Blimey my hands are colder than I thought they were! 😳🥶

There's a fine line between "thick leek and potato soup" and "creamy mashed potatoes with some chopped up leeks in them". I think I've just stayed on the right side of it today!

It has become a Winter Solstice tradition for me to make a Yule log with my youngest granddaughter, Arrietty. Last year we decorated it with snowmen truffles, and this year we made a family of 10 chocolate marzipan hedgehogs!
