Sports News:
Unprecedented scenes in the village as I don my radioactive yellow top & do a 3.2km (2 mile) run to/from the golf club/home.
Roger Bannister needn't fear.
Ave pace works out at 11mins/mile!
Flu jab Saturday at the surgery. Very, very efficient. In and out in 7 mins including check-in & queue.
Ah, yes, but then there's Alan Carr!

We're proud of our bone chapels.
Hmm... I suppose I'm being a little unfair, considering I've never watched the 'regular' Traitors. That's prejudice for you, right there!
I have a healthy disdain for 'entertainment' shows like The Apprentice, Big Brother, Love Island, Traitors, etc.
So it comes as a great surprise that after sitting through a dodgy first 20 mins, I've become hooked on Celebrity Traitors.
I know! Shocking isn't it?
I've not seen eps 3&4 yet, so 🤫
Yep. New follower says "...new here, and i will be happy to have friends here", and from her many selfies is obviously very proud of her inflatable buttocks.
Exciting times last night.
1 am. V.loud police 'copter flies over roof & then bottom end of village with a rapture beam for 30-40mins. Villagers claim drones were used too. But all I see are two cops with v.bright torches sweeping rear gardens. Unless they're calling cops drones. Disrespectful.

3/3 Bringing to mind the skulls of former masters down in the catacombs of Jordan College ('The Northern Lights'*, Philip Pullman, 1995), and the chair made of Darckense's bones & skin ('Use of Weapons', Iain M Banks, 1990).
The horror! The horror!

*aka 'The Golden Compass' in the US.
2/3 to Rome, & the Capuchin Crypt beneath the Santa Maria della Concezione dei Cappuccini, to this! Rooms tastefully decorated using the bones of over 3,500 Capuchin friars buried by their mates - & if they're not monks then a cold case for Aurelio Zen. Exceptionally creepy, even for Catholics.
So, tonight I caught up with ep.2 of Waldemar Januszczak's Art's Most ...
This time- Horror. Opening with WJ throwing a bucket of blood over a cow carcass hung in a barn. He really should be wearing a pair of those dinky white booties worn by all competent slaughterhouse operatives. And then...

Candice Owen’s appeal to the highest court in Australia was rejected because of potential incitement of discord when on a planned tour

We just don’t like MAGA here

Our recent election results showed that we overwhelmingly rejected far right policies (thankfully)

It's meringue wk on The Great British Bake Off & time for my reliably inaccurate predictions.
1. One baker's peaks will go limp.
2. Paul Hollywood won't get the flavour of one baker's poncy choice of fruit filling.
3. One of the lads will leave the tent.
4. Lesley will get Star Baker at last

Jack Bryan on Threads talks about how Frank Sinatra saved Don Rickles's life. Rickles said, "Some goons were beating me up. Frank comes over and says, 'Okay, guys, that's enough.'"
Bryan says--with some truth--that he remembered that anecdote when Trump hogged the credit for ending the war in Gaza.

And who doesn't like a dinosaur story?
Also, there's a brief childish joy to be had scrolling back and forth over the sauropod animation towards the end of the article, making it show off its (admittedly limited) dance moves.
