Catalina Island Foxes, the smaller cousins of the gray fox, live exclusively on the Channel Islands off the coast of LA. These guys are SO SMOL and will not hesitate for a moment to dart at your bag to check for snacks

Jurassic Park but it's life-sized dino nuggies and mashed potato volcanoes with gravy and ketchup lava. You move around the park in dinghy-sized gravy boats with that really shitty recorder cover of the theme song playing on loop at all times.

lets say a wizard has cursed you with a lot of money. you are going to become permanently brain damaged simply by being in possession of so much money. the only way out of it is to spend a lot of money on something ridiculous and not at all useful

what would you buy to break the curse?

🐮🔥 COVER REVEAL TIME 💚🐺
Another amazing illustration by @caraid.bsky.social. Look at those colors! The buffalo's name is Lune, and you'll meet her VERY SOON, because Feral Flame will release NOVEMBER 11!
#NossSaga #BookSky 🌈📚
Cover for Feral Flame - Book Four of the Noss Saga, by Joaquín Baldwin. A one-horned buffalo holds her hands forward to control a green flame shaped like a running wolf. Her brown fur is draped with long white fabrics that flow in the wind and blend into the pink mist behind her. Her horn is decorated with golden caps and rings, her nose and ears pierced. Her green eyes stare directly at the viewer.

Seen in my own neighborhood!
A landscape photograph covering the northern edge of South San Francisco and the south edge of Colma, demarcated by the end of housing and the beginning of cemeteries. In the mid/foreground of the photograph is a lone coyote standing on a brown, grassy ridge below the skyline. It is nearly sunset and everything has a warm glow

I'm not saying anything particularly profound, nor am I trying to, but evaluating the kind of photographs I take through a more interpretive lens (badum-tish) is fun! (And I certainly am not trying to take away from the message of the pictured work, this is just me talking about the *picture*)

But digging in more, it's just a statue. Ce n'est pas un humain. It's hollow, cold, bereft of life. It's much more ephemeral compared to these monuments of stone and steel. And yet it was still the work of a dedicated group of people with a strong humanistic vision, and that's beautiful, too.

None of what I am about to say was my intention while shooting it, but came about afterwards while sorting through my shots. Looking at the contrast between the human form, full of light and a mesmerizing beauty, standing tall against the rigid, dark corporatism creates a defiant spirit.

Prefacing this post with the thought that I don't believe this is one of my better photographs on a technical level, but I have been thinking about the subject a /lot/.
A huge, wireframe statue of a woman photographed from behind and below. The picture cuts off mid-thigh. In the background rise the skyscrapers of San Francisco's Financial District
