A lot of companies lease them for several years, and then replace them with newer laptops. They will either then give them to recyclers or resellers.

But I get it - my Thinkpad T420 was bought via a charity eBay auction for $20 US. After $50 worth of upgrades, it works like a charm on Linux.

Meta has removed a Chicago ICE-tracking Facebook page.

The move follows Apple and Google removing ICE activity tracking apps from their app stores.

The removals came after a demand from Trump’s DOJ.

Once again, Big Tech is bending the knee to our tyrant-in-chief to protect its bottom line.

The main reason Thinkpads are such great deals:

1) you can maintain them easily (replacing SSD, RAM, etc)
2) they're business class machines so they're built to work hard
3) they're very Linux-compliant

I own two refurbished Thinkpads - one with Win 11 (work - T480s) and one for writing (T420)

FLUX should have been Chibnall's second season, allowing for revelations like FUGITIVE OF THE JUDOON and THE TIMELESS CHILD to seem like aftereffects of the Flux, causing the Doctor to doubt their origins even more.

Part of it (from what I've heard) was a change in producer (who was reported to be less than familiar with DS), and a decline in sales (BF has shut down several lines when they didn't recover their costs).

Big Finish puts out *way* too much DOCTOR WHO-related content. Too many spin-offs, "special events" and things that feel like they were released out of obligation to the contract rather than organic story ideas.
