Christopher Nolan isnt always my favourite director but I respect that his response to Warner Bros limiting Tenet's theatrical release was to turn down a blank check from them after Oppenheimer. If you want your stuff to be packaged properly, dont work with cheapskates.

Gotta say I don't think it's the middle managers who are the problem. At least in my experience, middle management prefers remote work because it makes it easier to retain staff. It's upper management that doesn't have to train replacements for experienced staff that demands the end of remote work.

There is an actual life-changing conflict between WFH being cheaper and more efficient, an entire layer of middle managers who need to have meetings to feel alive, and the commercial real estate cabal that runs all cities. It’s going to get so fucking weird.

It seems pretty straightforward and stellantis is behaving rationally; trump wants the jobs back and is using tariffs to tank the Canadian auto sector. He does not seem to be offering a deal to maintain the current arrangement.

(Yes yes, this is not actually practical in lots of places for lots of reasons, our urban design is frequently bad in a way that pushes people towards using cars for everything, but being a pedestrian is a radicalising experience.)

Everyone who is physically capable should try going without a car to experience life as a pedestrian or a cyclist for one month. I am confident we would get our traffic situation fixed because the tenth time you've nearly been run over everyone will be like "Wow this is crazy we've gotta fix this."
