Roll Call Amendment King. Yes. He could agree with others on bills with their names on them famously.
Also yes. Bernie couldn't find enough politicians to ever agree with him & therefore he was ineffective with his own priorities. Call them all corrupt if you want. He couldn't get anything done.

I wish Obama could have gotten Rowe codified. I feel like that's the only time the country was close to unified enough to get that done. There's no way it could have happened under the Bush's. They were still blowing up abortion centers during Clinton & otherwise normal people justified it.

I think by "they" you mean the Democrats but that's only partially true of the party. I think the majority are centrists but we've still got a few closet conservatives. Enough to weigh down the left wing of the party.
The GOP is still the furthest right that you can get w/ few centrists now.

It wasn't just M4A. It was the fact that Sanders had never been able to compromise on anything to the point where he'd never accomplished anything but naming post offices. The Congress he would have had went on to vote mostly with 45 on everything. Sanders wouldn't have gotten anything done.

This is factual & the people who were politically active at that time know it.
"He had a Democratic majority." He knew exactly what Democrats he had to work with & they weren't about to go for it. Many of them are still sitting there & haven't changed their hearts.

I am curious about when this government shutdown will end. I know it's hurting a lot of people & will be hurting a lot more. Things are different this time, they won't be able to just kick the can down the road. The threat of a shutdown was usually enough for them to come to the table. Stay strong!
