For Loke, everything is a win in some way. She's so much more optimistic than her favorite son.

Kal doesn't trust wins. if there is something good, there's something much worse looming on the horizon. He'll only go with a celebration to appease someone else

Kal: DM with an involved story everyone will ruin
Mahoe: makes weird builds, like a bardbarian (also, this is me)
Mahana: has to keep the other players on task and keep the game going before Kal gets mad and quits
Asta: Makes sure everyone has snacks and has no idea what she's doing

He's too tightly wound, for sure. But the chaotic sunshine in his life at least has loosened him up more, at least privately. Still won't tolerate casually discarded clothing. But maybe less bothered by a few books not on the shelf. He's adapting (he's my icon)

Loke is a mix.
Kalua, however, is super neat, organized, and very methodical. He doesn't do anything without 3 other alternatives. His hubby ends up forcing chaos onto him, but Betti knows not to just toss his clothes on the floor if he doesn't want to sleep alone.

Later stories have Kal as the MC, who is the 2nd of 4. He is very serious and focused, Asta, his older sister is adventurous and cheerful, and Mahoe and mahana are the younger, very troublesome twins. The twins will often swap places and love pranks

Yeah, I remember watching one that was 300 bucks. Eventually I managed to snag it when it went down to 80. I think it was vol 23. Just something I'd check for once in a while.

Loke only had the priest and priestess that raised her to look up to, which wasn't really a lot. She became a priestess in her own right at 12 and set out on her own around then. She would have likely really looked up to her dad if her parents didn't die when she was 6 :/

Gods are critical to the plot. The religion that's being persecuted believe that people can be gods. MC is a high priestess of that faith. Generally, they're given offerings at small shrines (basically a little table) and there are gods for anything you can imagine.

not officially. In later writings between stories, Kalua likes to buy his family items during the harvest festival since he doesn't get to get out into the city very often and considers it a good occasion to treat them to things he thinks they'll like.

Loke learns how to play well with others. She's been so solitary for so long and even though she's a driving force of everything, she starts to realize that having people around that she can trust may not be so bad.

not sure if it's a good or bad thing to be a philly sports fan tonight. A must win baseball game, a season opener for hockey, and football. I'm afraid to look at the Phillies game and at least if the flyers do anything but lose, it's a plus! and the eagles are on amazon, so go birds, boo Amazon

Votan interrupted Loke and Magnar’s bickering. “Before that, I think we should be careful. I don’t think we’re alone here. I always heard rumors in Nakbe about this being a place for bandits to use as a base.”

“What, they didn’t have any thieves' guild or something you could have joined?” Colel was extra sharp to Votan. They had been civil lately, which meant that Votan likely said something inappropriate to her recently.

“I told you, I’m not doing that anymore! Just that one time in the dungeon so we could all get out of there.” Votan was visibly upset, but his expression changed to suspicion quickly as he pushed Colel forward, causing her to fall.

“What did you go and do that for?” Colel yelled at him, but as she turned to look at him, she quickly realized that he pushed her out of the way to protect her.

Votan pulled the throwing knife out of his shoulder and tossed it aside. “I think we should go somewhere else.”

Day job is excruciatingly busy for me. I'm tired and can't catch a break. There aren't enough hours in a day and while OT is a nice $$, it's just not worth it for my brains. I have a case on my desk from last Tues and 4 cases I processed Fri. But my whole day is in procedures and prep. Send Help.

Wiil is mostly isolated from other countries, though they do trade because they have to. but they have really high costs and their government is... iffy. That gets covered more in book 4... or 5 (i'm rearranging).

The world is typical jrpg fantasy-ish. It's not as big as earth and transportation is horses, ships and feet. Most major countries are their own landmasses and have varying climates. Nich and Kabra are reeling from civil wars while Caax, Tohil, Yopa, and Zipan are teetering on the edge of one 6/
