There’s 1,000 times more chatter about the Maine senate race in a year than about Maine’s ballot measure in 3 weeks that’d bring voter ID and crack down on mail voting… maybe let’s start there??? boltsmag.org/maine-questi...
A Ballot Measure Targets Mail Voting in Maine - Bolts
Question 1, on the November ballot, would set up a barrage of new restrictions on absentee ballots that would considerably affect older voters and people with disabilities.

You are rocking my world with these fare details - thank you!

It's going to really change how I get downtown and to the airport.
I 💙 u anyway, BART — just less often than I would!
If free in-city transfers 😊
If discounted in-city transfers ☹️
Same, looked and didn't buy. I work at home, so the math of the monthly pass doesn't work out. Or it months where it would have, I only know after the fact once I've lived my life lol!
I buy Muni day passes a lot, and BART's not included in those. Any inter-agency transfer discounts that exist between BART and Muni don't apply to that, so they don't help me.
My trips on BART would double if there were free transfers within SF between BART and Muni and vice versa.

One city, one fare!

Ridership growth is only part of the solution to BART’s significant financial crisis. To close BART’s $375 million deficit with only fare revenue, current ridership levels would need to more than double.

Does the news reflect what we die from?
The image presents a comparison of the leading causes of death in the United States for 2023 and the media coverage these causes receive from three news outlets: The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Fox News.

In the footer, it notes the data sources, indicating that the information is based on media mentions from Media Cloud (2025) and death data from the US CDC (2025) and the Global Terrorism Index, with a clarification that values are normalized to sum to 100%.

Note how the SF Standard adopts conservative slogan/framing, rebranding supportive housing as “drug-tolerant housing.” The same could be said of any apartment building, condo complex, or single family home, but the term will only be used to describe the housing low-income people occupy.

Officials want to halt city funds for 'drug-tolerant' housing

The Mabuhay, “the cauldron where punk rock began in SF,” shuttered decades ago. On Friday, Oct 3 it reopens with a show headlined by Kelley Stoltz. What happens when you try to build something new on sacred musical ground?
