Calling the requirement for a judicial warrant before entering a person’s home one of the Democrats’ “new restrictions on federal immigration agents” crosses the line into outright falsehood. It’s in the Bill of Rights! A rule as old as the republic.

For those of you who grew up after 9/11, we got along just fine without a Department of Homeland Security for 212 years.

The DHS was formed to try to prevent future terror attacks — now, it is orchestrating them.
Never reactivate it.

If the evidence warrants it, officials should be fired.

If the evidence supports it, indictments should follow.

The DOJ should unredact and release all 6 million of the Epstein documents and investigate everyone implicated.

And how this administration is actively bullying other countries to also give up on climate action

A remarkable and powerful speech by Friedrich Merz at the Munich Security Conference is filled with surgically precise criticism of Trump and JD Vance. Their game will not destroy NATO or the EU, he says, but it may produce a NATO without the US. America has forfeited its leadership position.

I don’t really pay attention to charges of doomerism. I don’t know what it means offline.

I do know that refusing a version of how the future will unfold forecloses on the power that actually shapes that future. That’s not disavowing that tech changes are happening but they are in now a given.
I understand why people are exhausted by AI hype, and why those of us squarely in the corner of "human dignity uber alles" see AI doomerism as self-serving hype, but I *really* think people on the left broadly need to start thinking seriously about the possibiltiy of the hype being...true.
