Over the last 33 years, there’s no economist I admire and respect more than Larry Katz. @lkatz42 shows brilliance can go with humility: economic rigor goes with understanding the layered realities of human behavior: that evidence of what works promotes the pursuit of justice.
Not quite sure how to put it all in words, but I just spent an extraordinary day celebrating my dissertation adviser, Larry Katz. Feeling grateful, proud, and (re-) inspired.

I read this @propublica.org piece in October 2024. It was not only prescient, it provided the frame to understand the incomprehensible: an intentional, reckless and destructive strategy to traumatize and denigrate the very workers who serve tens of millions of hardworking Americans.
