Pro-DEI, because different perspectives and experiences are the way to increasing knowledge, wealth, and wisdom.

Also annoyed that I have to point all this out.

He/Him is part of my First Amendment rights.

We must achieve a more limited version of the same--convince the median voter--and some extra, just to be safe--that nothing MAGA can offer them is worth the cost it imposes, that they will not be able to enjoy peace, happiness, or safety under MAGA, but can live normally and win under Dems.

Put Go on last night and I Have Thoughts.

Including: it doesn't do the "repeating what's happening so you don't need to pay attention."

It GRABS your attention, starting right from the Columbia bumper, which jumps from the standard resolving chord into the X-Mas rave at the center of the action.
Go (1999)

John August’s first script. Doug Liman’s third movie.

Went because Ralph Garman - then
just “Ralph the New Guy“ on KROQ - said it was good. And it is.

Honest question: is everyone using the Fantasia 2000 version of The Firebird?

Because I watched that a lot, and even allowing for “yeah it’s a classic there’s lots of performances….” it sure sounds like it to me.

Thread. And, yes, 100%
You and I won’t be “coming together.” Not forward, not backward, not ever. Not in this lifetime or the next. Trump disgusts me. But what will echo long after his gilded circus collapses is the simple, unforgiving truth: he didn’t disgust you.

Voter ID: Because if ICE has shown us anything, it's shown us that random government officials will absolutely trust and approve official documentation, and definitely will not be biased by things like skin color.

There is no significant voting by non-citizens. Therefore a new bundle of laws to stop that is dumb. Or worse. It’s voter suppression in a pretty package. IF ID is required, there must be guarantees that support will be provided to those who lack ID. And make Election Day a holiday.

The so-called Save America Act will force 21 million American citizens to produce passports or birth certificates just to register to vote. Most do not have them ready. Turning paperwork into a barrier is a poll tax by another name. #HandsOffHerVote social.demcast.com/s/L9X3k1fQ

1. ICE is saying REAL ID licences don't count
2. I routinely go for walks without my wallet
3. "If you have have your papers why do you care" is an unamerican response to becoming an 'Ihre Papiere, bitte' society
Markwayne Mullin defends "show me your papers": "If you're here legally, there's nothing to hide. Most people already are walking around with a government-issued ID, meaning your Real ID or your driver's license. If you go board a train here, you gotta show your ID."

This is not a close or difficult question. Trump's tariffs are a catastrophe for the US on many different levels. Yet Congress under GOP leadership can't even have a sober conversation about them.

Here’s what the Macarena reminds me of: Go

Written by John August, directed by Doug Liman, film debut of Melissa McCarthy —- sex, drugs, rock-n-roll, not necessarily in that order

Even the trailer is a lot of fun.

Gonna toss out here that a larger House would free up the work of the individual representatives, allowing some of them to spend time restricting and overseeing whatever the executive branch is up to.

“our diversity is our strength” is literally our founding oath, just in fancy latin. we have it on our money. it’s just a group of very loud ten year old boys screaming no it’s not and we somehow let them have power. it’s a huge bummer.
Remember when "America has many groups of people in it and that's good and makes us strong" was an uncontroversial - even cliched - viewpoint that was universally endorsed across the political spectrum?

We can go back! We just have to get rid of the tiny handful of bitter, angry men in the way.

fellow engineers,

you really need to start asking yourself some questions when building something:

1. how will the police use what i'm making?
2. what kinds of people are the police going to use it against?
3. how many people will be harmed in silence before we find out?

If you were to run down a list of all the things distinctive about the United States in contrast to Old World Europe, most of it is stuff we instead have in common with Latin America. That's not some woke novelty, it's a deeply embedded centuries-old aspect of our culture and national identity.
