I was worried that Trump's second administration would be a dystopian fascist takeover.
While none of it has been *good,* it would have been much, MUCH worse had Trump chosen a competent and intelligent cabinet.

I saw @y-chornomorets.bsky.social tweet about the Holosun DRS-TH thermal sight that Ukrainian snipers are using to take down drones. I decided to buy one for hunting now that this is legal in my state.
This thing is freaking COOL!
And I can see how devastating this would be in warfare!

My hypothesis: fascism, and all extremism, is a lack of self-awareness.
The inability to see oneself necessarily means an inability to see oneself in others.
So, when one has a lack of insight into oneself, one sees others as foreign and hostile rather than similar and sympathetic.

Rather than release numbers that will show how terrible the economy is, the Trump administration is simply canceling all economic reports.

I just went to a busy Chipotle. There were 6 teenagers working: one poor bastard who knew what needed to be done and how to do it, and 5 low-agency types with vacant stares and thumbs up their asses. The one had to do all the thinking for the other 5, plus his own work. This is a societal microcosm.
