Super Mario Bros. Deluxe includes a calendar that goes all the way to the year 3000. Ironically, this reaches much further than typical modern computer and smartphone calendars. As such, even now Super Mario Bros. Deluxe remains a good option to keep track of far future dates.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate released 7 years ago.

It's a game that will always be remembered for it's incredible amount of content and reverence for the video game industry.

Your day becomes so much more grueling when you have to go through a dull, not very stimulating job while such doomy news is all over the place and therefore left to ruminate in your brain.

Anyway, how much longer do we need to deal with this before things actually start getting better man...

Netflix’s acquisition of Warner Bros would be the latest in this harmful trend — and could kill the movie theater industry.

If Netflix gets their way, their increased domination would make things worse for viewers and artists.

When only a few companies control the media, they become easier to censor and control.

It also leaves independent creators with fewer buyers and drives up prices for consumers.

In 1996, President Clinton passed the Telecommunications Act.

This repealed New Deal restrictions on media consolidation.

It also continued industry deregulation stretching back to Carter and Reagan.

On Jimmy Kimmel: It's Time to Destroy the Censorship Machine and Repeal the Telecommunications Act of 1996
In 1996, Bill Clinton set the stage for what Donald Trump is doing now by creating a censorship machine of consolidated media, broadband, and tech firms. It's time to break it apart.

Forty years ago, 90% of media outlets were spread across 50 companies.

Now, just 5 companies control 90% of the media market.

This consolidation hurts consumers and helps oligarchs. 🧵

Glad to see some good news surface during these trying times, even if fanmade restorations of the Original Trilogy's pre-Special Edition versions have been around for the better part of a decade already.

We all want to live in a world where Warner remains fully independent.
That world is a fantasy land that doesn't exist, so what you have instead is a choice between Netflix & David Ellison, and read this and tell me Netflix isn't the hoiy better option.

You know, between the Netflix/WB merger, Paramount's future plans under David Ellison, and Disney continuing to be Disney...

Does anyone else feel like Japan, a random European country, or China will eventually dethrone the US as the dominant producer of entertainment at the rate things are headed?

Well, the Netflix/WBD deal is official now.

REALLY starting to wonder if we would've been much better off had Warner Communications gone bankrupt from its Atari purchase in 1984 so that Warner Bros. would have likely landed at a better owner than the three we ended up getting from 2001 onwards...

On one hand, this could be pretty bad news for movie theaters (and physical media collectors) within the next few years.

On the other hand... REALLY glad Paramount Skydance (and, by proxy, David Ellison) isn't getting its hands on it whatsoever based on what has been going on there lately.
Netflix is now in exclusive talks to acquire Warner Bros after the bidding war

If they agree to a deal and then it gets blocked, Netflix will still pay Warner Bros $5B
