[willem dafoe unprompted] now, this cookie monster. [toothy smile] what a creature, what a lust. it consumes him. [crosses legs] he’s really a tragic figure.

At a non-profit fundraiser, they played “Not Like Us,” and a bunch of middle age donors all sang “a minoooooooor.” No one has ever been as astronomically cooked as Drake

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office.

Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc.

Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

Costco and Trader Joes are yin and yang. Together they form a harmonious balance. One sells big piles of normal food, the other sells small piles of weird food. These are the two food piles people need

Imagining 1960s Beatles fans who talk like it's 2025. Saying they're being fed so well when Revolver comes out. Telling each other they're shaking the bars of their enclosure when the band is interviewed on the BBC

instead of affirming trump’s belief that he is king of america, it is important to recognize that federalism provides states the tools to push back or at least ignore these orders

not to downplay the seriousness of any of this but i think a lot of you are imagining the united states as a country of 30 million people and not a country of 330 million people.

i think also the primacy of national politics in political discourse has maybe led people to forget that governance is very decentralized and the federal government does not control the states and has limited enforcement power over them

a critical thing here is that wapo/nyt subscription numbers are down *because people see them as Vichy media*
There'a been a lot of media talk about how "the Resistance is dead" for which the evidence is Dem electeds aren't fighting and cable news and WaPo/NYT subscription numbers are down.

We should not overread into this one result, but consider: those might be the last Resistance's metrics.
THE DEMOCRATS HAVE FLIPPED IOWA'S #SD35:

Mike Zimmer (D)- 51.8%
Katie Whittington (R)- 48.2%

THIS WAS A TRUMP+21 DISTRICT!
