There's people online I recognise, most come and go, and they're hilarious to banter with, but it'll be a long way before I consider them "friends". And that ok.

Old dude observation - as you grow up, making friends becomes more difficult. Everyone has shit going on, and you become more selective. No real solution except to appreciate the ones you do have and keep, and to learn to enjoy just doing your own thing.

Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?

I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?
