Heads up from a cancer patient, some of the necessary tests are so expensive that the hospital will make you pre-pay before administering them. So they may be on to the $10 trick.

The maximum out of pocket has kept me out of bankruptcy so far. I guess it depends how much you have in savings, though.

When I was first diagnosed with cancer at age 48, I was vegan and a bad triathlete. I have always been healthy and never overweight. Healthy lifestyles are the best, but there are other causes of very expensive diseases. You are lucky.
