In normally growing juveniles, semaglutide improves glucose control without affecting growth.
But in stunted mice, it further impairs linear growth, revealing a key interplay between energy metabolism and the somatotropic axis during development.
Mechanistic, not clinical!

We found that semaglutide, beyond its metabolic effects, can exacerbate growth stunting in juvenile mice by reducing energy metabolism, a context-dependent effect of GLP-1 signaling.
