I think Rev. Jim on #Taxi was always working off the meter. You never once see him fill out a trip sheet.

Do you know why a president would do all the most evil and heinous shit via Executive Order? Because his party can't easily make it law. And if they can't make it law, they can't make it last.

Don't let anyone make you feel like this is The End. Do not let them demoralize you. Live to see them die.

#FilmSky are there any good articles I should read on the topic of genuine location shooting being replaced by CGI environments?

That a dude with a couple cameras and a plate of appetizers can make something worth $82.5 million and a media company looks at that and goes "couldn't we make even more money if we had AI do it?" tells you exactly how stupid these people are
The $82.5 million sale of "Hot Ones" studio First We Feast is part of a broader strategy at BuzzFeed to shift away from human editors, writers and content producers in favor of artificial intelligence, which result in "high-margin, tech-enabled revenue lines."
BuzzFeed sells "Hot Ones" studio for $82.5 million as it pursues more AI-driven content
The company said the sale will allow it to depend less on human-created content in favor of "high-margin, tech-enabled revenue lines."

Used @bluemigrate.com to import my old Tweets. Very cool. Just fyi that old insults about "here" are in reference to Elon's litterbox and not Bluesky.

Had a hilarious dream in which Oliver Stone announced he was directing a biopic of George R.R. Martin....starring Ethan Hawke as Martin.

Every time I or anyone else on here pitches some practical advice for resisting the second Trump administration, you see replies along the lines of "the omnipotent MAGA movement will easily swat this aside."

I get people are freaked out, but learned helplessness is not especially useful.

Thanks so much to @TheOliverStone for promoting Richard Sale's Abandon Ship (1957) which I recently watched as a double bill with Hitchcock's Lifeboat (1944). Surprisingly the unknown Abandon Ship was much more captivating and visceral to Lifeboat, one of Hitch's weakest.

The newest season of @RememberThisPod definitely spotlights some stinkers, but it's crazy to remember how so many movies in the 90s were for adults, about adults: working, fucking, interacting. Not wanting or having kids, even.

As one for 25 years, was happy to hear @TheOliverStone reveal he's vegetarian on #Rogan, despite predictable pushback from Joe. Overall in the ep, Stone seems to exude peace and #Ahimsa - a journey from decades of jousting, sometimes combative interviews.

I pop in here around once a week. Even on my Following page, I get right wing garbage pushed to my feed that I have never, and would never, follow. I've been force unfollowed from lefty accounts, tweets are no longer chronological and spam is everywhere.

Sure Spielberg's mom married his uncle, but @theoliverstone was raised in the 1950's by an openly gay male nanny who dressed like William Hurt in Kiss of the Spider Woman to cope with PTSD from the Holocaust.

Ecstatic to finally find a good quality upload of my favorite @TheOliverStone documentary, Persona Non Grata, about the Israel-Palestine conflict. Aired on HBO in 2003. The version on YT was glitchy quality. https://vimeo.com/57254488

Really enjoyed @OwenGleiberman's Movie Freak for how perceptive and personal it was, as opposed to some other critics' memoirs. His 90s EW coverage was a huge influence on my taste in film.

What a gem I found on YT: Oprah episode from 1991 on #JFK. Watch how hard Oprah goes against that pro-Warren audience guy! @TheOliverStone doesn't say anything, just watches while O takes that guy to the wood shed. "Who are you?" ‚ https://youtu.be/Vmhtf8Sqzlk
