Thanks so much to @TheOliverStone for promoting Richard Sale's Abandon Ship (1957) which I recently watched as a double bill with Hitchcock's Lifeboat (1944). Surprisingly the unknown Abandon Ship was much more captivating and visceral to Lifeboat, one of Hitch's weakest.

The newest season of @RememberThisPod definitely spotlights some stinkers, but it's crazy to remember how so many movies in the 90s were for adults, about adults: working, fucking, interacting. Not wanting or having kids, even.

As one for 25 years, was happy to hear @TheOliverStone reveal he's vegetarian on #Rogan, despite predictable pushback from Joe. Overall in the ep, Stone seems to exude peace and #Ahimsa - a journey from decades of jousting, sometimes combative interviews.

I pop in here around once a week. Even on my Following page, I get right wing garbage pushed to my feed that I have never, and would never, follow. I've been force unfollowed from lefty accounts, tweets are no longer chronological and spam is everywhere.

Sure Spielberg's mom married his uncle, but @theoliverstone was raised in the 1950's by an openly gay male nanny who dressed like William Hurt in Kiss of the Spider Woman to cope with PTSD from the Holocaust.

Really enjoyed @OwenGleiberman's Movie Freak for how perceptive and personal it was, as opposed to some other critics' memoirs. His 90s EW coverage was a huge influence on my taste in film.
