We certainly need to address how political commentary happens in mainstream media. BBC possibly the worst at this right now, but the focus on Westminster tittle-tattle is just ridiculous.

Just lack of time to do it, Bart.

Great news. MPs should also pay attention to our campaigns:

● Remove the 26 bishops

Religious office should not grant automatic voting rights in a parliamentary democracy.

● Scrap parliamentary prayers

Attending prayers should not to provide speaking advantages🧵

Not really, Bart. Only about three on YouTube. The dozens I did before it became the fashion to record them are lost to posterity!

"The prime minister's communications director Tim Allan has quit." I am astonished to find that he had one at all. Like the other pillock who went at the weekend, off you pop.

Just answering an enquiry and it reminded me that it could be answered by a talk I gave a few years ago. You might like to see/hear it. #ww1 #genealogy #ireland

Better than hereditary peers, bishops and political appointments? Damn right there is.

An elected second house.

The House of Lords needs to go. I have signed @electoralreform.bsky.social‬'s call to demand change and encourage others to do so.

It’s outrageous that we can't kick out Lords. Sign now to demand an elected second chamber
It takes 30 seconds

There isn't. Which is what caused my to look into it.

I saw that you were one of very, very few authors to have picked this up. Curious that Edmonds unwittingly created a myth.

Totally.

It's wrong.

Hear me out. It was not invented until 1915.
February 7, 2026 at 11:35 AM
No mention of 1914 there.

If you have recently woken from a 14-year coma, I can understand you thinking Starmer is the worst PM you have ever encountered.

As that particular form of weapon hadn't been invented yet, it might be a good idea to revise your caption.

@sommephantom.bsky.social @simonjones.bsky.social War diary of 183rd Tunnelling Coy says Bulgar Point mine did not explode on 1 July 1916. OH says it did, and of course this has been replicated by many authors since. Question, then: did it blow, and if not, where did story originate?
