Omg. Thanks for asking. 💁🏽‍♀️ CW - for 2nd Gen kids.

I made it in a flurry, when I first created a public account for gaming. I realized someone had the one I first planned, so I landed on this one & just went with it.

Growing up “Your mom is a FOB!” was a common insult. 🧵
Explain your username

It’s my name without vowels.

I come from a land where the interval between two notes is such that the frequency of the higher note is double that of the lower note. And I work for BGG.
The most useful thing I ordered from the library 3D printer. I like that the tamper is super solid. I can put my weight on it and it distributes evenly. Staff assured me they use food grade plastic (custom cookie cutters are a common request). But I plastic wrap my rice anyway.

What are people doing for teen banking / money management? I've surveyed my coworkers and friends, and there is such variety it's dizzying.

My child has to owe her friends whenever places don't take cash! Which is happening increasingly in the SF Bay Area. 😑

I haven't watched this yet, but if the game uses baseball card stats as like a card battler type fantasy draft type thing, it's about freaking time!
Use actual baseball cards to play Baseball Card GM! #boardgames #baseball

A no good very bad solo score for my first game of Ganz Schön Clever.

102. 🫣 Admittedly I forgot to utilize my bonuses and I forgot that blue gets added to white.

2 handed solo, learning game of Gizmos. I tried card driven engine builders, but something about handling marbles is clicking for me.

I like how PWH distills mechanics into very simple clean processes for different brains. Ex. I didn't really get deck building till I had the mat from Summer Camp.

If I could go back in time to middle school and learn all my math through cheese and wax, I maybe would have become a marine biologist.
I hate how much I enjoyed this

Thanks @stoichamster.bsky.social for the reminder. Forgot I owned this.

Finally got someone to play with me at lunch. It's perfect for that dynamic. But I forgot that you get an extra turn after successfully stacking on two bananas. That changes everything! 🤦🏽‍♀️
Tasso Banana is on sale for the bananas price of $5 at the @25thcentury.games store. So I'm taking a moment to say why I love this underrated gem. If you're like me you see this cover and think "oh! cute bananas... I guess?" You can't really understand what's going on, and aren't sure if you care. 🧵

Actually our DVDs are hella touched at my library.

There are moratoriums on certain titles, (especially older ones!). They often don't get a re-release, so we keep them forever. Please let us know if they skip. We don't polish them anymore, but we will take them out of circulation if you tell us.
“I miss blockbuster video” the library has every dvd totally untouched and I never see you there

Ants in the lunchbox! This is not a drill. Ants in the lunchbox! 🐜 🤮 🐜😭

Of all the historical photos at work, this one is my favorite.

The fact that someone from the past felt they had to point out Mark Twain doing the most Mark Twain pose ever.

How am I supposed to be an Adult Literacy professional when my emails have comma splices all over the place!?!!

Learning Fiction for potential holiday gatherings.

My kid likes Wordle, we tried the board game version, but it was a little boring for me.

I'll try this on her and see how the lying aspect lands. Going to house rule by reading the passage first, so she knows it's one of those words.

This is a good episode that made me marinate on work ethic and my North Star.

Today is my Monday and I'm still listening while working at the "Email Factory."
Newest episode with @raybird.bsky.social is out today!

Come for the D20-headed bacteriophage, stay for literally everything/anything else.

Ray’s insight, stories, advice for hypothetical situations, and more make this a wonderful listen!

Is the Paul Dano discourse still happening?

Submitting this underrated gem.

Brian Cox as Not-the-Bad-Guy is kinda nice too. Especially after knowing him from the Bourne movies.

I think I'm reading too much Junji Ito. It looks like someone sneezed something alive that is coming to attack humanity.
I found a tiny octopus on the tide pool🐙✨️

Small as it is, it’s every bit an octopus ... and absolutely adorable!!

It even shoots ink🫧 ͛.*

Did you ask them?!?!? What about estate planning in general? Were there surprises? 😳

I'm in full Sandwich Gen mode here. Prepping my teen for adulthood, & my senior parents for the inevitable. How did this happen? How am I responsible? I stayed up till 5am bingeing the entirety of The Lowdown.

If they act like you don't need to worry about it or it ain't your business, push the issue. It's gonna be your business!

I thought her cassette player alarm clock was enough.

She discovered the KPop CDs with photos and extras in them. I can't find a combo, CD / Cassette player boom box at the thrift anymore. They are a hot item now.

But I did find a CD player alarm clock with the rice cookers. 😆 🍚 💿

If you're seeing Art of Manga at the De Young, go to the special exhibit first *then* the One Piece Only: How Manga is Made exhibit in the general museum.

Surround yourself by the hand drawn richness of it all, before considering the commodification. It can be jarring.

I was poor, but so were others in my circle. Our mixtapes were often recorded from the radio. Imagine someone recording the commercial free mix on a cassette, and then picking songs from that to put on your mixtape. And *then* handwriting the playlist!

I'm old.
I know I'm showing my whole age here but remember that thrill of getting a mixtape from someone? A mix of music that they made just for you?

I would watch a spin-off about the Pawnee Public Library. It turns out everyone on staff can't stand Tammy and hate that she is a huge barrier to interdepartmental collaboration.
I started my first-ever watch of Parks & Rec yesterday, am now up to S1:6 and i cannot imagine how this show ended up being so beloved but I am locked in and willing to believe

It's with heavy hearts that we share that Claude, our beloved albino alligator, has passed away at the age of 30. Claude brought joy to millions of people at the Academy and across the world during his 17 year tenure. We will miss him dearly. 🤍

What kind of pillow are *petite* side sleepers using?!?!? I'm 4' 11" and the size of many middle schoolers. Some side pillows are too high for me.

I used to use a kid's memory foam one from Target (I would replace it every 2 yrs or so), but am trying to avoid them.
