Composer and conductor Peter Fuchs was born #OTD 1916. In 1938 he escaped to the US and lived by accompanying singers, instrumentalists and ballet classes. He toured with a ballet company in 1939-40 and in Oct 1940 was hired by the Ballet at the Met Opera.
