Save Filgaia, one more time, on today’s #RandomGameSaturday

Wild Arms 5 was the final mainline entry in the series. I’d call it a good game. Really enjoyed it. Positioned as the 10th anniversary title, it had tons of callbacks to the series. A nice swan song at the end of the day. Never rereleased.

A game with an odd lineage: it's the officially licensed Lynx sequel to the unlicensed NES original.

Very blatantly Boulder Dash inspired, though not as good as that game. But it's still Color Dreams' best release.

This is not a good game 😅
Between the lack of real star power (see back cover) and repetitive gameplay, this one gets old fast. Still, me and my sisters had some fun with it back in the day.

Did you know Europe had to wait one year after the NA release? For some reason, NoE at the time thought that we were not THAT into Kirby apparently.

Here's Toshinden 2 for #randomgamesaturday. I bought the import as soon as german shops had it in stock and was hyped beyond belief. Then I learned the meaning of the term "bullshot", early screenshots were clearly doctored. Still, I had a good time. The music was great and the intro very cheesy.

I picked Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey on the Nintendo DS for #RandomGameSaturday! A really good and horrific first person dungeon crawler that has you fighting and negotiating with demons, with multiple morality paths in an end of the world type scenario. Think Etrian Odyssey meets Megaten.

Once again trying to tackle our mess of a closet and ended up pulling a RetroPals classic for #RandomGameSaturday , a loose copy of The Adventures of Willy Beamish for Sega CD. I purchased this as-is sometime in the 90s, no box, because I guess I just "had to have it" after renting. A simpler time.

My first #RandomGameSaturday post, shortly after my PCEngine Friday stream on twitch, I closed my eyes, reached behind me and pulled Shinobi for the PCE. This game gets down hate nowadays for some reason but bitd I thought it was a solid port.

Today’s pick for #RandomGameSaturday is “Realms of Quest V” on Captain Kirk’s favourite 8-bit the VIC 20!

Considering the VIC’s limits, it’s no surprise it needs expansion RAM.

It’s also an impressive effort, especially considering the chunky visuals.

Nice to see the VIC get more involved games!

It’s a copy of “Realms of Quest V” for the VIC 20.
