I’ve been working for 15 years as an animator and I can tell you without a doubt, the best fix I ever found for imposter syndrome is living a full life where your days and worth don’t hinge on whether or not you were a good animator today.

indeed. designed obsolescence alone makes it an unviable concept. add on monopolies, collusion, bailouts. what a joke.

It is a stinky situation. The tag is self reporting, so if it filtered them Steam would be asking devs to tick a box to not show people their game, and they wouldn't tick it.

As stinky as it is, at least this way we know (some of them, you can bet loads of AAA aren't clicking that tag already).

This reminds me of how David Lynch said he wanted to keep working but couldn’t because COVID posed too great a risk & people stopped being willing to mask up to protect others.

Ableism is an insidious evil in society & healthcare. It convinces us to abandon each other for profit & convenience.

You’ve always been an incredibly physical performer: your strut during “Sweet Transvestite” in “Rocky Horror,” or the way you run around unfurling the mystery at the end of “Clue.” Do you still feel that in your body? Does that live somewhere in you still?

I think it does, but it’s angry. My mobility is angry to get out. But it’s not happened yet. I do a certain amount of physical therapy. I did a whole bunch of it at Cedars-Sinai, and I got very close, I think, to walking. That was tantalizing. For insurance reasons, I had to withdraw. And I have a visiting physical therapist now, but I can only really do exercises from my bed, which is pretty pathetic. It’s not going to get me walking, I don’t believe.

it really did feel like that was the message in the end. wasn't totally on board with that as a moral (due to the extreme nature of both resolutions), but it was interesting as a point of conflict between the characters. for the ones that got to have agency at least.

They go so far as to actually encourage toxicity. Letting players award negative badges (such as the Clown), which transfers redeemable points from the giver to the receiver. There are plenty of users who go out of their way to farm these points through intentional and unreasonable negativity.
