He/Him. Horror propagandist & football shitposter.
Last night’s horror game was BUTCHER’S CREEK, a short riff on CONDEMNED: CRIMINAL ORIGINS combat.

Damned solid game, a tweak away from being 1st person, 3D HOTLINE MIAMI. The story is tonally all over the place (the downfall of the snuff cult is b/c of an UwU member?) but good enough. Def recommend

With every other horror game riffing on the CONDEMNED series, is it too much to ask for rereleases of said series?

The outline of Lara Crofts knockers in the Catalyst trailer. Lmao

Resident Evil Requiem looks like it will continue the proud RE tradition of completely shitting itself every third entry.

I remember back in my tumblr days seeing a comment that said "John Green seems like the type of guy who still visits his high school" and man that really has stuck with me over the years.

Finished Jordon King’s SKINFREAK last night. 2nd game I’ve played by him.

I’m mixed on JK. When King is good, he is superlatively good, but there will be exactly 3 of those moments and not one more in both games, in the same parts of the story. His games are less than the sum of their parts— (1/2)

The poem ‘A Touch of the Master’s Hand’ but it’s about Puppet Combo in relation to the rest of the Torture Star roster.

Black Christmas, again. Ok, Peter sucks - but Chris? Dude rocks, and not just bc he's a townie or his fab fur coat. The second he learns Clare is missing he ditches his goalie gear, marches to the cop shop to read Nash for laziness, then helps w the park search. Art Hindle, TY for being a gem.

Followed this up with another walking sim, ECLIPSIUM, and it’s the best walker since DEVOTION. It leans into every inch of the medium, it adds gameplay everywhere it makes sense, and the story hits like a truck (all told visually). Magnificent, wonderful game. Can’t recommend it enough.

If it takes you 17 hours to talk about a mid game, maybe you’re not good at your job. (mauler is a pedant).

Ok finished the game. 2 Chinese Room games played, both had the same problem: the story says one thing, the mechanics another.

For the example, the body horror wants to be serious but they treat it like DEAD SPACE. There’s no weight, or even anything wince worthy. They needed to slow the hell down.
Really trying to meet STILL WAKES THE DEEP halfway… but the usual problem of the lack of deep mechanics makes the flaws that much more glaring.

If Ohio State beats Indiana, I think that qualifies as anti-Italian discrimination.

Played a decent chunk of HORSES last night. So far it’s incredibly funny and deeply horrifying. Very strong MOTEL HELL vibes, but cozy sim games the target of the laughter rather than American 1970s horror movie trends.
Just bought Horses off Good Old Games. It's five bucks, it looks interesting, and fuck the payment processors, fuck every single one of those unaccountable devils who think they can tell us what we can look at and how we can spend our money.

4 times down, 12 to go.
1,954 pages read, 5,424 remaining.

I already hated Greek myth retellings (unless they’re by @theworldsgreatestwriter.com) but now I can hate them 🎉 metaphysically 🎉 too. It’s amazing how much is lost when Greek poetry/philosophy is ignored.
