One of the weird things about having had flings with so many artists and writers is constantly looking for yourself in their work.

Like, literally, an ex sculpted me and didn't realize it until I pointed out it was my exact likeness.

There's a couple reasons so many IWW songs are set to the tunes of hymns and one is that the Salvation Army Band would show up and try to stop workers organizing by playing hymns to drown out speeches, so the Wobblies came up with words so they could sing along. SA has been trash all along.
It's that giving time of year again, so this is a reminder that no matter how they try to dress it up, the Salvation Army is not a charity.

Stop building computer labs and use that money to get individual computers into the hands of community members.

I'm so over terrible information culture in Baltimore. Nothing is communicated well across groups, websites are out of date, and even if you have the right information for someone, someone changed the schedule and didn't think to tell anyone.

Real talk: can we sue employers over weight loss incentive programs? Because weight has genetic and emotional and disability components and weight loss incentive programs are definitely discrimination.

not always, actually.

fat and thin people need food. chosen food, tasty food, food nutritious for your particular body, food of plenty.

a dearth of food does not always cause weight loss.

i've studied fatness for over 4 decades. glib comments about fatness are often wrong.
Dr Oz: "Americans will lose 135 million pounds by the midterms.”

Yeah, that tends to happen when people can't afford to eat.

No, you carried your 112lb Rottweiler into the ER this morning and wondered if you'd be bringing him back home.

We did. He's doing so much better. He's on a lot of meds and bed rest. But WOW this week has been a lot.

A former DOGE staffer developed an AI tool that hallucinated the size of Veterans Affairs contracts.

For example, it concluded that more than a thousand deals were each worth $34 million, when in fact some were for as little as $35,000.

Updates: he's so sweet and lovely and he was surrendered because he was too big and too Rottie and the last time, too old.

He's living his soft life on a memory foam bed and with physical therapy and a lot of expensive medicines.
We just adopted a senior dog who had been surrendered to BARCs multiple times due to housing issues.

He's such a sweetie and such a good boy and I'm so grateful he's ours.
