My representative replied to a voicemail I left for him that the only reason he's not voting for the discharge petition is because when the resolution passes, Trump will veto it. My response is that they then need to override the veto. Anyway, that seems to be their current excuse.

Aside from the last horrible months of Trump's first term, I don't think he's ever taken off the rose-tinted glasses he sees the world through. I envy the child-like belief he holds in an America and conservative ideals that only ever existed in his imagination.

They keep saying it because despite it being a blatant lie and bad policy, their supporters accept it uncritically and beg for more. They will ignore price increases and vehemently preach that prices are going down and rebate checks are coming.
