It's really striking that the peak of commercial art is promulgating elite ideology and policing tribal boundaries when you have a whole fucking mind of your own that can casually simulate chaotic systems, but I guess following the leader is the responsible thing to do for the sake of the community

Last May I did 300 mikes of acid and had a nice, long walk around Montjuic, and I was melting into the glory of the universe, watching my mind turn the clouds into great churning maelstroms and I communed with a German Shepherd and I realized how much effort is spent preventing this experience

A few years back there was this meme about how having dogs and cats as pets is essentially psychologically torturing hunting animals into a stunted, docile and submissive existence and I think a lot about that except with humans under hierarchical profit-oriented economic models and consumerism.

I'm pretty sure a smart sociopath can be highly motivated by status and reputation, and develop real people skills to garner those. Even if you're an emotionless void you can pull off deadpan and sarcasm with a glimmer in your eye, a lot of the time humour is about saying what no-one else is saying.

Not an answer but another question: How did Quake and Unreal get away with CSG-esque map formats back in ye olden if CSG is notorious for ugly edge cases? Did they restrict away the edge caes, or were they there in all their glory, mappers just had to avoid them and learned how to do so?
